We stayed in the hotel and found the welcome warm, staff attentive and friendly. The rooms and bathrooms ( we stayed on two separate occasions) were clean and spacious. The gardens are beautifully presented and pool-side is excellent. The piped music to the pool-side wasn't to my liking, but that is simply a matter of taste.
Before we left for Ghana we checked with the hotel if we could pay in GB£ or US $, yes you can. But at the hotel the exchange rate is out of date; 2.0 cedi/1GB£, when the current Forex rate is 2.77/ 1GB£. We went down town to get the cedis!!

Room Tip: Pay with cash if you can!

Ghana in April is typically a very hot place to be especially for a Scotsman. So it was a great surprise to be greeted with a cold towel and refreshing orange juice. We were asked to wait at the pool side bar while the room got ready which was fine, smooth service and great drinks. Once we got our rooms, we were ushered there by a waiter who proceeded to show you around the room and made you make a few checks to ensure that everything was working as it should. After returning to the pool we took a bit of lunch which can only be described as excellent, i cannot fault the seafood!

My only criticism of this hotel would be the breakfast. Not even average. Your coffee was brought to you but that was it. Only buffet was offered with none of the items being cooked to order which was a huge dis appointment.

Such a shame as this place really gives you the first impression of being a luxury hideaway.

Room Tip: Facing the poolside

We stayed here for 2 nights on a quick visit to Ghana and found it extremely clean (even to the point that you could lean on anything outside and not get dirty or dusty), beautiful to look at with relatively good facilities - it looked like it had recently been refurbished too. We stayed in one of the suites upstairs in the main reception building and it was beautiful. We didn't eat at the restaurant but had breakfast both days - this sadly is limited and not too great but adequate - I can imagine if you were there a week it would get a bit boring. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance that are good - we ate at Captain Hooks and found the seafood really pretty good. We would definately stay here again or recommend to family.

We just really needed a clean, neat place to lay our heads. We were there as
3 couples to attend a wedding reception at Ankrama Plaza.

i must say that I am glad we stayed after the refurishment had been done. We did not
spend a lot of time at the hotel but in general, I was comfortable. This is important because I
usually can't sleep well for the first or 2nd night that I am away from my own bed.
1.) The environment, the gardens and atomsphere is quiet and serene. Just perfect for a couple's get-away. The gardeners seem to be on top of their job as well as the housekeepers (but the rooms could do with a bit more tissues, toilet tissues, small toothpaste
and airfreshner for the restroom for the prices they charge.)
2.) The waiter Emmanuel (although he was a newly hired person) you could see that he was trained well and had a since of urgency about him as we enjoyed drinks by the pool side. I just only wished the ice maker (which was faulty for 3 days) was working or that they had a back up. We love lots of ice with our drinks and emmanuel couldn't keep up because he kept serving the ice in big beer glasses.
3.) The rooms we occupied (garden rooms) didn't have windows in the bedroom. This might not seem strange to some but I felt as though I was in a closet. a nice, refurbished closet but a closet none the less or like an inside cabin on a ship. The bathroom had a gigantic window but who wants the world watching them when they are doing their business??? NOt I. I probably wouldn't do too well with those outdoor showers in Thailand, but I digress.
4.) In general, the price is a bit steep for whatever reasons and as a first time visitor it would have been nice to have a staffer give us a tour of the place after we settled in. It didn't seem that busy this weekend so I would hope that the management will pay particular attention to all guests when the lodge is not so busy...........especially since domestic tourism needs to be boosted in general in Ghana and more specifically since oil workers on the new oil rigs don't generally pay attention or make time to write reviews.

1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 should be available for overall ratings.

5.) The mattress was not that comfortable. When you move around in bed #13 you will hear a few noises. I am not certain about the quality of the mattress or if the springs in the mattress was the problem. I do not recommend the garden rooms at the back, next time I may have to upgrade to a 'bungalow'.

Room Tip: do not choose the back or the garden rooms behind the front garden rooms. I have no idea why the fr...

I lodged here for a night and it was endless fun. The beauty of the serene, the smell of the air and the low breeze at night. Also, it is close the the beach if you choose to hang out all day by the sea side. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are OK. You will enjoy every moment of your stay. It's a lovely place to be.

Only managed the one night due to being called to work a day early? Great food, a bit overpriced though as was the wine but where isn't. Very pleasant girl on reception, attentative porters & a great pool area along with well tended gardens. Look forward to staying for a bit longer next time. A great place to stay.
