Description: Carluccio's café in Bicester Village, the infamous designer outlet in Oxfordshire, has gone and got itself a new outfit. Still dressed up in its signature blue and white colours, the Bicester branch of this successful Italian restaurant chain is part classic Carluccio's, part clams-and-clapboard Cape Cod posturing. With wood-panelled walls and high ceilings, the café has a unique character, and is the ideal spot for post-Prada coffee and cake breaks with friends, pre-shopping breakfasts and leisurely lunches. We love the Insalata Contadina – a smoked chicken salad with green beans, potatoes and roasted peppers; the sweet Sicilian lemonade; and the Penne Giardiniera with courgettes, chilli and deep-fried spinach balls with parmesan and garlic.

“Good food in a shopping Mall”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

We went to Carluccio's during the xmas rush for shopping and dropped in there for a quick drink. We ordered a cappuccino, chocolate bread and butter pudding and a italian speciality coffee called a Berecin. That consisted of a mini jug of espresso, melted chocolate and a jug of cream. You had to mix it in your own variations to get the right drink, it was a complete waste of time in my opinion. For someone who's never had this drink, it would take me several try's before perfecting it and then the enjoyments gone out the window. Give this one a miss. On the other hand, one of our water glasses were chipped, I pointed this out to the waiter who moved the glass away and then the manageress came over. She was extremely pleasant and said she was very sorry this had occurred and gave us everything free. I said to her that the coffee and dessert were fine and that she didn't have to, but she insisted. Great customer service, accidents happen. The sign of a good restaurant is the one that actions the problems to solve them.

“Had no idea a chain could be this good”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Went here on a busy Friday in December- the place was mobbed and we had to wait to get a table. Being that a) the place is a chain and b) it was really busy my expectations of good food were pretty low. How wrong I was! A phonomenal seaf food linguine, packed with flavour and freshness, good sized portion and not too long to wait for cooked to order food. When my partner chose a special that was no longer available the waitress very sensibly suggested other dishes that were not too dissimilar.

One slight dissatisfaction- the toliets were not great.

Overall: Very impressed.

“The best place to eat in the shopping village”
Reviewed December 9, 2012 via mobile

We were shopping on a Friday in December and were looking for a nice place for lunch. Knowing the quality of the chain, we chose this. We were walking past just before midday and decided to go in earlier than we really wanted to as a queue was already forming. While waiting, we looked in the deli shop. We were seated pretty quickly and ordered our drinks and food. It was all good quality and very filling, plus good value too.

“The Finest Italian Fare”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

Carluccio's is by far the best Italian chain of restaurants. The standard never varies and I have never been disappointed whatever dish I have chosen. An added bonus is the fact that I can buy fresh bread and food to take home and enjoy.

“Nice for shopping!”

Didn't eat here as there was a queue, snacked on the freebies which were delicious and bought oils and vinegars, very nice indeed!
