There were 10 of us for dinner tonight. Had good food drinks and service. Our kids played hide and seek with the owners children and had a great time. The only flaw and it was a big one were the musicians who came to our table and played two songs. They were terrible singers and they refused to leave until we paid them 400 pesos. Have never had this experience before and will never agree to have musicians sing again. I think the owners should ban them from their restaurant.

This place is sort of off the beaten path and stands alone in Mismaloya. It's right off Highway 200. We decided to go there for lunch. We each wanted the Fish Veracruzana style. It came with fresh vegetables and the most delicious Mexican rice and corn tortillas. The fish was so fresh and delicious and the sauce was so good we scooped it up with our spoons and put it on the rice and ate it. We had their guacamole too, which was very good. When they brought us out chips and salsa Mexicana, we asked if they had some jalapenos or serrano peppers sliced up to put into the salsa Mexicana to give it a little more zip than the ordinary diced up tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. The owner or manager smiled big saying he doesn't get that request very often and he said he was happy to spice up our meals. He brought out lots of fresh serrano peppers and some delicious and very hot habanero sauce that he made. This place is not fancy but it is very clean and the seafood is fresh and delicious. Everything we ordered was good, and the beers were even ice cold. We'd definitely go back.

We went here because we stayed nearby and read all the great reviews. It is a MUST! Also, this is an optional pick up option if you are doing the Los Veranos canopy tour. We went to many of the top rated places to eat in PV and this is off the beaten path, but walking distance from Mismaloya Beach if you are going. Don't eat at the places on Mismaloya as they are touristy and not well rated. Plus, the margaritas here are the BOMB!

Don’t judge this book by its cover from the street. Once seated we were greeted with excellent service and prompt drink orders. The salsa is spicy, the menu includes local lobster and shrimp, and the patio atmosphere was pleasant. I would eat here again.

El jacalito exceeded every expectation we had. Our family of eleven stayed in a villa located up the road from the restaurant. We were recommended this restaurant by our house attendants. The chicken quesadilla is life changing. Sounds simple, and it is, but mind blowing. We ate here multiple times as it was close, FRESH and we had three young children with us so we also utilized them for takeout after our long days and dined in about 3 times. NOW HERE IS THE REAL DEAL. We celebrated thanksgiving here, that morning our family was fortunate enough to go on a fishing trip with hopes to catch a dorado, and we did! Our fishing guide, José Luis Santana, which I highly recommend you contact him, advised us that Jacalito’s will happily cook our fresh fish for us and serve it 4 separate ways. We enjoyed our fresh caught mahi prepared by our favorite chef for our holiday and it was an experience of a lifetime. I hope you enjoy your visit. Great for children. There is sand to play in and they usually have their own children running about. Great drinks and lovely individuals. We cannot wait to come back to mismaloya and have more fishing adventures!!!
