You're not going to get "fine dining" in Cumberland, but what you get at Mar's is a welcoming greeting, exemplary service, and delicious, well-cooked food. If you're looking for a large wine selection or a fancy cocktail list, go somehwere else. Three of us went for dinner on Saturday night, March 30th, and I had the prime rib special. Perfectly cooked, but the slab was smaller than I expected. Probably about 5-6 ounces. Roast potatoes and veggies were perfectly done. The creamed horseradish was disappointing, as was the "gravy" which tasted like a mix. No "au jus", unfortunately. Appy of coconut prawns was incredible! When I initially asked the server (Mar) if they had a cocktail list, she gave me a funny look, as if to say, "Do you know where you are?" She then told me that they didn't have a special list but they have a full bar and can make almost any cocktail. So I asked for a martine and was told they didn't have any vermouth. Hmmm. Also, only three choices of wines, but the Rigamarole (top end choice) was quite good. Dessert special was lemon meringue pie and it was disappointing. The filling was tasty but the crust was doughy/heavy. Also, the two big globs of whipped cream were not necessary. There could have been more meringue and no whipped cream. The entertainment was excellent and not so loud as to drown out conversation. Was a fun evening.
