The guides were amazing, and the equipment seemed well maintained. Beautiful scenery too! They adapted the guided tour to match our ability levels, and made it more challenging than usual since everyone there was more athletic.

One of our best places on our winter Quebec vacations.
The staff very nice, kind and helpful. We did the snowshoe activity and was great. Also did the dogsledding tour and it was awesome.
Food was really, really great.
Would visit again without doubts!
Super friendly and efficient staff, great food, excellent lodging and the fjord ...

a good friend and I participated in a 'salmon fishing retreat' on the Ste.Marguerite River hosted by the FQSA (Quebec Atlantic Salmon Federation) and were wonderfully lodged at this family run farm. The '5 stars' are the family members, headed by Yannick, who manage this over 2000 acre farm. We had charming Chalet #1 which comprised 2 separate bedrooms, full kitchen dining room and lounge with fireplace. Meals were hosted in the main 'sugar shack' and we ate like kings - tasty country fare. The setting is by a fjord of the Saguenay River which itself flows into the St. Lawrence River. Their website says more about the various Summer and Winter activities. Our purpose was to discover the magnificent St. Marguerite River nearby which 'hosts' fine runs of Atlantic Salmon. We worked on and perfected our fly fishing technique under the expert guidance of Selma who is an internationally certified and highly respected fly-fisher woman. A fine weekend indeed in a charming setting.

Room tip: Chalet #1 for a family of 4 or two fisherman

We ended up booking Ferme 5 Etoiles because the Hotel Tadoussac was all booked up. It's about a 20 min drive out of Tadoussac. We took one of the suites next to the Spa. The suite was very spacious and clean. There were two bedrooms which is great for a family with a teenager. One gripe was that there was no wifi in the suite.

The breakfast in the main building was excellent, with the cook making eggs bacon etc to order.

The unique part of this accommodation is that there are enclosures of rescue animals all around the compound. So right next to our suite we had deer, raccoons, emu, and wolves. At night you could hear the wolves howling to a distant pack which was very cool.

There are many activities available and we did kayaking on the Saguenay which was awesome. Our guide Liliane was great.

All in all a very unique and memorable stay.

Actually, we went there at least 3 times in the past 10Y. The farm is only a small portion of what you can do.

On our side, we really like the ATV adventure in the woods and fully enjoy the fjord vista points during the ride. The guide explanations are really rich. We learn a lot each time.

If you are lucky, you can maybe see a black bear ...

During winter, a similar ride is available in snowmobile.

If you like nature and adventure, worth the visit.

Plan at least 4-6 hours to fully enjoy it !
