Reviewed July 2, 2013

Stayed here for 4 nights in august 2012...the location is just superb...the deck is the best i have seen location wise. the rooms need to be worked on, they seem a bit tacky! which may have been because of the storm a week before i got there. all in all the location is the best one can ask for in goa

Room Tip: try getting the beach facing rooms

I and my friends with their familes went to Goa and stayed in Rococco Ashvem during May 2012. We had 6N/7D trip. Over all stay was awesome. The site of the hotel, Sea view, Pool overlooking the Sea.. awesome experience. All the staff were very helpful.. Especially Bumba. He was very prompt in responding to our concerns related to house keeping, food in the resturant etc.. Mr Joy is also a very nice and kind person. Even though we met him once or twice, I can make out his caring nature and customer cenrticity for his guest. My friends son and daugthers enjoyed playing in the pool. Enjoyed our foods and stay there and I am again planning another trip to Goa and stay in the same hotel. Rococco I am coming again...... Three Cheers for Rococco.. hip hip hurray, hip hip hurray, hip hip hurray.........

And yes... EXCELLENT LOCATION !!!!

Imporvements:

Obviously there are things to improve which I am sure by now things have changed a lot and hope to have another fantastic stay during my visit.

Bumba and Mr Joy... U both rock..

Room Tip: Goa is not a place to rest.... Go out and enjoy the life to the fullest. U just need room to rest at...

My fiance and I stayed at Rococco Ashvem in June 2012 for about 4 nights.

We had corresponded online with the owner to arrange payment which all went smoothly. When we arrived we were very disappointed with the outlook of the hotel and more importantly our room. It was quite dark and dingy and wasn't at all like what we'd seen on the hotel website. As it was monsoon season, our little balcony was completely bordered up and so we had no sea views. There was no hot water and there were pen marks all over the quilt on the bed. On the first night our room flooded but luckily were upgraded to one of the upstairs rooms which was a lot larger. This room was much brighter, had a useable balcony but there was used makeup sitting on the windowsill from the last guests- so I'm not sure how thorough the rooms are cleaned. No complaints with the a/c, only that we got too cold sometimes!

As the owner was away, it was run by a few young Indian boys who were were very friendly and helpful as they could be but the running of the hotel did seem a little unprofessional at times. We were up at 7am and the place was deserted until about 9am... we had been waiting around for the restaurant to open for breakfast. There were trays of glasses and bags of rubbish sitting outside the restaurant and even first thing in the morning there were beer bottles and glasses on the tables from people partying the night before.

On the plus side, the driver who arranged to pick us up from the airport was really fun and showed us around all the sights and provided quite a nice local experience.

Overall our stay was quite disappointing. My fiance and I had hoped to have a little romantic getaway before travelling throughout India. But the standards at Rococco were quite low even compared to cheaper, budget hotels we stayed at later in our trip.

Room Tip: Upstairs room away from the restaurant provided a good view and a nice balcony. Much more spacious a...

Please note this review was from a guest who stayed with us ten months ago during monsoon season with the ground floor rooms protected from the wild elements by screens . The photos show the back of the kitchen area which is fenced off with a bolted door; the restauarnt had been remodelled since then; and if the guest has turned 160 degrees he would have shown an amazing sea view only 5 metres away. During monsoon breakfast commences at 9am and so the restaurant does not open until then. We have opened an attractive reception area since then which is open for guest assistance from 8am.
We would be very happy to host this guest for a complementary weekend stay to provide him with a stay that is possibly the most romantic in North Goa. We are sorry for the disappointment experienced.

We had a family vacation in May 2012 @Rococco. Rooms were average, but it has excellent Sea side view that others can't beat. The hotel staff was very friendly, we had a young 1.5 yrs old boy with us and we good all that we needed to make things comfortable for him. The property is bang on the beach, it can't get closer than this which handy with a young kid around. The breakfast place overlooks the sea and evening look amazing from there. Its a quiet place, where you can spend a relaxing time. The shacks near by serve good food at reasonable price.

The rooms on the first floor had puffed up flooring and the grills did looks safe for the young kid hence we moved to ground floor and it worked well for us. The hotel staff was accommodating and the owner was polite. No availability of cheaper travel option from the hotel to other parts of goa was a concern but if you not planning to move around too much then its not a big deal breaker. I felt the place was a bit over priced tough.

Had gone to this place sometime in May 2012. Was little disappointed with the room given to us. The AC was right above the bed and used to leak. The bathroom had dim lighting and was sometimes visited by insects. We got a standard room and were told that it is a deluxe room. Dont go by the pics of the bathroom. They must of some other hotel only.
However, from the room we could directly get a view of the sea and from the balcony too. So the view killed the bad things mentioned above.
The hotel is slightly on the outskirts so having a bike will be a great advantage.

We do not have a record of this guest. Potential guests please do not be influenced by this reviews as it is factually incorrect. The guest was supposed to have stayed last May - 10 months ago! The guest says he was given a standard room instead of a deluxe room but that this standard room had a sea view. None of our standard rooms have a sea view - they have garden views. All of our Deluxe rooms have a direct sea view only a few metres from the beach. All photos on the website are 100% genuine. The bathrooms in our deluxe rooms are quite small with modern fittings. Our standard room bathrooms have jacuzzi baths and are very spacious. Ashvem is a destination in itself with lots of trendy bars and restaurants bang on the beach.

This was our second stay at Rococco and we really enjoyed ourselves. My girlfriend did a full spa package and they really knew what they were doing. The place is so relaxing - you can hear the waves when you sleep and when you wake up. Breakfast overlooking the sea is awesome. The beach is really clean and my 5 year old daughter finally learned to swim in the pool. It was magical. The staff organised a romantic surprise dinner for my wife's birthday and cooked spicy chicken to perfection. We are already planning to return in April when the beaches will be quieter. Thanks to staff at Rococo we had a great time.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms with sea view are definitely first option and super deluxe if you can afford it

My first trip To Goa 14-17 Dec'12 to celebrate our first anniversary was really made special by Roccoco@Asvem. The hotel, wonderfully located on a lava rock jutting out to the sea gives it a natural open space in two sides where all the rooms are located. We stayed in a deluxe room (No.18) with great views. The food is great with both Indian and Russian cuisines. The breakfast(free) spread is good. The spa, my wife tells me is of a high standard. The staff is attentive. On the flip side the rooms not having intercom sometimes makes the service slow, but the management tells me they are in the process of installing. All in all will recommend Roccocco certainly to all.

Room Tip: Try rooms Deluxe 18, 19 or super deluxe 20-21
