“A perfect weekend break.”
Reviewed March 13, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

We have just returned from a lovely weekend in this great little cottage.
Perfectly located on the beach it was heaven from my children (and me!).

The cottage itself was lovely - clean, bright, comfortable and cosy. Kitchen is brand new and had everything we needed.
The location is accessed via a private road which is gated so it feels secure.
Within 5 minutes drive there are shops, restaurants and a cinema, yet at the cottage you feel you are miles away from everything.

We had amazing weather for March and despite wanting to visit Hastings and other towns we couldn’t pull ourselves away from this little gem of a cottage on the beach.
For us it was perfect and I really cannot wait to return.

“Great Location”

This is an old property with furnishings matching c.1950's. It was slightly grubby, particularly the kitchen floor and the sink. Also, the water heater in the kitchen did not work and from a note on the table the owner had promised that it would be fixed the previous week and it wasn't addressed during our stay either. The use of extension leads with multiple sockets particularly in the kitchen which was supplying the toaster and the kettle at the same time is not to be recommended. It needs a little work from a qualified electrician to correct these issues.
You would think from what I have said, that I would rate it very poorly, but you would be wrong! It was reasonably priced. It has bags of character and it is in the most fabulous location.
We had a great time!

Management Response
Jan 18, 2017
Many thanks for the feedback. The kitchen is indeed in need of an update so that's exactly what is happening at the end of this month (January 2017). The whole area is being refitted along with the flooring right through the hallway into the bathroom. The electrics and water heater are being refitted and renewed as part of the process.
As soon as the work has been completed we will put up new photos on the website. However I would like to reassure anybody reading the review that the Beach House is always cleaned before visitors arrive but because the kitchen/floor were worn it was becoming difficult to get it to look pristine. The electrics were checked by an electrician and were deemed safe, but as the reviewer indicated, not ideal. I wouldn't like anyone to think we were putting guests at risk, so this is just a reassurance as the issues are going to be addressed very soon anyway.
I'm glad you had a good holiday anyway and hope you will return to see the improvements.

“Peaceful.”
Reviewed May 29, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The bungalow is basically furnished but has everything you need for a quiet break away from it all. The location is what really sells this property. I went paddling in my pyjamas in the early morning sunshine with no one else in sight which sounds so silly but was the perfect antidote to my busy city schedule. Away from roads, the quiet was so restful and the walks along the beach beautiful. The owners were very polite and helpful when I corresponded with them and the cost is very reasonable.

“If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you.......”
Reviewed February 8, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

This is a fabulously cosy cottage, warm and comfortable that we had a happy week in at the end of December and in to January. It is exactly as advertised, well equipped, with extra heaters for the winter months, a lovely retro feel with direct access to the shingly beach. The bits you don't know are the considerate extras, a welcome gift, information about the local area, games, dvds, books, soft pillows, cosy blankets and throws, cushions for the garden, a shed full of bits and pieces that you are welcome to use - a real family holiday home that you are truly invited to share by the owners.
