My wife and I are glad we found this restaurant in Brasilito. The food and service was excellent. We brought our fresh fish in one night and they prepared for us, WOW it was out of this world. I would highly recommend. Jorge and Victor do a great job and make you fell welcome and can answer any questions you may have of the area.

We discouvered this place looking for a nice place to have coffee close to the beach. It is luckily off the main area of Brasilito but within 3 min walking distance. It is very spaceous and open, with lots of plants. The owner Jorge made us feel welcome instantely. the coffee is just great, so is the food.
A perfect place to chill out a bit ...

After reading about this restaraunt on Tripadvisor, we knew we had to go. After eating there, it exceeded even our high expectations. Friendly service, wonderful view of the ocean, and some of the best food we have had in Costa Rica. Our only regret is that we did not find it sooner so we could go back.

I had the vegetarian comidas and my wife had the steak. Both were excellent. There are also a large selection of seafood dishes and daily specials. We also cooled off with delicious smoothies.

It may be difficult to get to, but it is worth a long walk down the beach.

Cafe El Manglar is on the dusty main road of Brasilito. The community by U.S. standards is poor. Don't let the quaint poverty keep you from this small ocean front eating place. The restaurant is very clean and the tropical courtyard within is a testimony to what can done with tropical foliage.
The owner Jorge, is a kind and friendly host. The menu is limited and basic but the food is very good and very reasonably priced. The cooling ocean breeze, the sound of the waves, the atmosphere within and the hospitality and good food made this a very enjoyable dining experience. The old adage "don't judge a book by it's cover" applies to Cafe El Manglar. My wife and I live in Costa Rica half time and we most certainly will frequent Cafe El Manglar in the future.

Cafe Manglar is a MUST when in Brasilito. It is the quaintest coffee shop and the tropical setting is so inviting! Right on the beach! Sunset views!! :D The owners Jorge and Victor are SO friendly and welcoming. The coffee beats starbucks hands down! It has quickly become our "regular" spot!
