An amazing place hidden away just outside Ludlow. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves for one night and were still treated to the full service. The room was excellent, a comfortable four post bed, large bathroom. The outside area is beautiful with tables where we could sit in the sun and watch the birds fly about. A very nice afternoon. The best thing though was the wonderful treatment we got. As it was a Sunday they weren't doing food at the lodge, but Robert recommended then arranged a lift for us to a restaurant nearby. We were even picked up and taken back later on. Great breakfast and a late night help yourself bar. Would highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel completely at home. We had booked this break to celebrate my 60th birthday, and could not have chosen better. Pippa met us on arrival and showed us around. We met the remainder of the staff over the 4 days we were there, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Our room, number 4 was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent . There is so much to see and do locally that we will certainly be back again.

This is a gem of a hideaway in deepest quiet countryside - comfortable, tasteful, peaceful - will certainly be back. Sadly the advertised dinner was not available but, no problem, we were chauffeured to nearby for a wonderful meal at the Jolly Frog in Leintwardine.

To celebrate our anniversary we had a couple of nights at the Old Downton Lodge which I found on the internet so wasn't quite sure what to expect. Approached via pretty country lanes the Lodge is set in beautiful countryside, perfect for a real getaway. Robert greeted us warmly and was very attentive and extremely helpful during our stay without being overbearing. The rooms are spacious, tasteful and really comfortable and the gardens are very pretty with interesting walks all around. Breakfast was excellent. We ate locally in the evening at the Lion at Leintwardine which was good. We will be back to enjoy the Old Downton Lodge again - a really lovely place.

Room Tip: Very helpful website shows all the rooms s you can choose contemporary style or more traditional.

This B&B is a real gem and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone going to the Ludlow area for a holiday! We stayed in Room 5 and what a treat...a taste of old England but so comfortable!! The Old Downton Lodge is so romantic and we had the pleasure of staying there for 6 glorious days. Robert and Diane are wonderful hosts and can not do enough for you! This place deserves to do really well and we can not wait to go back there! Thank you...just a wonderful place!

Room Tip: Room 5 is beautiful!
