“Lovely Place to Relax”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

The pub/restaurant is situated in a quiet area directly alongside the Bridgewater canal & Boothstown marina.
The interior is airy, light & fairly well furnished. There is ample room for the passage of wheelchair users.
The exterior is on 2 levels. The upper level has a small seating area & overlooks the canal & marina; the lower area is more spacious & is directly alongside the canal towpath which is accessible via a gate. NOTE: people with young children will need to be attentive to their young ones due to the proximity of the water.
There is a reasonably sized childrens play area near to the front of the pub.
The menu was quite substantial, offering a good selection of meat, chicken & vegetarian dishes. The desserts looked wonderful.

“Make over.... ”
Reviewed February 21, 2014 via mobile

Where to start the food is horrible! But an amazing place to go have a drink! Yes, it does need a make over but one step at a time. Staff are always friendly and always happy to help :) overall I love this place but please get a new chef because we need a good pub/restaurant in boothtown!!

“Understaffed and needs a facelift”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

When we go to this sort of place we're not expecting fine dining, and the food does the job.

However, the upholstered seat at our table (No.9) was absolutely filthy with large dark stains and was in a terrible state.

At busy times the staff just can't cope and customers are standing two deep at the bar either trying to pay or place an order. I would advise against going on a Sunday afternoon.

“Has been better”
Reviewed January 26, 2014

Visited The Moorings many times in the past, but it was a while since our last visit. Oh dear how it has changed. It has a wonderful position down on the canal, with lots of seating outside, wonderful in the summer. It has a conservatory, and lovely views down the canal. My main course was the beef Sunday roast. It was very disappointing! The beef was so 'dried out' I could have soled my shoes with it. The friends we were with took it home to give to the dog. The gravy was so watery & tasteless. I have recommended this place so many times to people, that I am now embarassed! I have no idea what has gone so very wrong. Yes they do 'meal deals' and is quite inexpensive, but if inedible - hardly a good deal. Sorry but won't be recommending it in the future.
