We stayed at this hotel for the first 2 weeks in September. We arrived around 10pm and was greeted by a lovely lady from reception. She checked us in and informed us of the “tourist tax” we needed to pay within our first 3 days. We paid it immediately to get it out the way. We then were taken to our room by minibus and informed that the Athena restaurant was open for food, however we headed straight to the Helios bar for a drink! This was situated next to Athena. Our room was a superior room which overlooked the water park and safari bar and also the sea! We were supposed to have dressing gowns and slippers in the room however these were not there on arrival! We mentioned it to our rep who offered to speak to reception. The rooms were quite noisy, you could hear other people moving furniture and chairs around both upstairs and in rooms beside you. However, this is no fault of the hotel, only inconsiderate guests!
We used the mythos pool during the day which was a lot quieter, and had no problems getting sun beds. You did see towels reserved on the sun beds at 8am but there wasn’t really any need, there was plenty left at midday. the animation team turned up at 10am and 3pm to do there daily party dance and then disappeared to leave you to relax. They did come around and chat to you but were not pushy. Panda showed up daily to do water aerobics.
It took us 3 days to find out where to change our beach towels, these are provided in your room when you first arrive, however no instructions where to change them anywhere!
You can change them from behind the water park near the safari pool. There is a man that sits right at the back in a little “cave” between the sun loungers. He is only there between 10am and 4pm.
There is no information in your room about anything! You are provided with a map ( which needs updating, as the water park is not on it) and a card with restaurant/bar opening times, again needs updating because some of the restaurant/bar are not on there. Our TUI rep (Ellie) was extremely helpful thankfully and answered all our queries, she is there practically everyday!
We did take a extension lead after reading other reviews on here and thank god we did! There is only one plug beside the bed, we would have been really stuck!
The hotel complex was immaculate all gardens and grounds were kept spotless.
All the staff were friendly and we didn’t see any special treatment of “blue band” guests and there was a lot of them! We did go to the beach bar for lunch one day and happily paid, again the staff were friendly and polite. We would have visited again but unfortunately the toilets were a trek up the hill and walking up and down did put me off ( I’m 5 months pregnant and struggled walking in the mid day heat!)
We ate in the Thalessa restaurant for breakfast as we preferred it to the hustle and bustle of Athena, but ate in the Athena at night. We choose to eat about 8pm when it wasn’t so busy as it can be really busy when it opens at 6.30pm as this is when everyone chooses to eat!
There was a constant breeze which was a welcome during the day, but be warned you will still burn! But during the evening this could be a bit chilly and I needed to wear a cardi/shawl, as did a lot of other people!
We caught a taxi from outside the hotel by standing near the road, into Rhodes town. We did this 3 times and each time it cost 10€. We also caught the bus into Faliraki which was 2€ each. We visited Kallithea springs which was beautiful this cost us 3€ each but that included sun beds and parasols. My advice would be to get there early to get a good sun bed.
We did the day trip to Marmaris with Tui, however if I did it again I would do it independently. TUI take you to a Turkish delight factory, which looks like someone’s house, and you don’t even get to see it being made they just want you to purchase the products! Then on to a gold shop where they try telling you it’s cheaper! We googled a ring they were trying to sell us and it was cheaper in the UK!

Overall we had a wonderful holiday, the hotel is spotless, all the staff are friendly and polite and the food is good.

Already looking at returning next year with our new arrival!

My wife and I make a point of never going anywhere twice: but we've just been here for the fourth time! Great room, great views great grounds. Food abundant, staff friendly, location good. But main restaurant can seem a bit of a scrum - and will they please put food labels at eye level and in large letters instead of at counter level in small print (hard to see if someone is standing in front of them). Vegetarian items have improved since last visit. Cleopatra in Mythos pool bar still hardest working friendliest staff member. Some good evening entertainment in three locations. We''ll be back again I'm sure.

Room tip: High floor superior seaview rooms are the best.

Have just returned, it was a dated hotel, over a large area. A large number of swimming pools and various bars associated with these pools. Not disabled friendly at all. The hotel was on a fairly steep hillside but did have a several mini buses, one of which had definitely had its day. The animation teams were loud and couldn't understand what they were saying, and one large coloured gentleman in particular with a loud mouth was exceptonally rude to patrons of the hotel, telling them in a loud voice that 'he was here now no time for sleeping, wakey, wakey etc' and continued in this vein. He was just full of his own imortance that he would be here next year which made up our minds that we would not!! Food very repetitive and of a fair quality. Staff exceptionally friendly, especially waiters/waitressses.
Key to door huge metal one with the room number on it. Safe key - huge key, but free. (this is unusual). If you want to go down to the beach you have to pay for sun lounger drinks and food.
The shower head in the bathroom was past its day and the towels could do with replacing.
The worst part of the holiday were the German tourists who were staying at the hotel they were very loud, ignorant, bad mannered and a total pain in the a...

The room was very clean and the view was very good over looking the sea. The fridge was stocked with beer wine and soft drinks. There was fresh fruit and a box of tasty natural goodies to enjoy. The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and smelt clean. The house keeping team are Brilliant. The service that we received from the staff was brilliant it was so good to have free Wi-Fi this year. The food this year was better than last and was really good. the restaurant staff were very pleasant our waitress Demetria was a very pleasant person. The restaurant manager plays a mean balalaika at the Greek night. The a la carte was good. It was nice to sit out and enjoy the food and music from the tavern. Bar staff I have to name because they were brilliant Agapitos, Maria, Irene, Stamatas and Cristos. These guys are so quick and really good at what they do THANK YOU.The hotel has such nice positive staff. We had a problem with the fridge so I contacted the Guest Relations Manager Eleni very nice person if any problems occur Eleni is the lady to see and that problem was resolved very quickly.
The whole ethos of the hotel from the chap that kept the grass cut the engineer that sorted the fridge to the restaurant bar even the little man at beach there was a wonderful atmosphere once again to everyone THANK YOU your the best. From jon and Julie Gardner.

Visited with a friend and stayed in block 3. Room was dated but perfectly adequate although we would have liked a kettle. There is no iron in the room and you have to pay for an ironing service apparently so make sure to bring your own. Also bring a hairdryer as the one in the bathroom is rubbish. Look out for plug sockets in the bedroom. For nearly 2 weeks we thought there was only one until we found another hidden behind the headboard. Mini bar isnt stocked up regularly so if this is something you want then you may need to ask the cleaners. The grounds to the hotel are very well looked after and in general the hotel is very clean.
We spent a lot of time at the mythos pool as it was easier to get a bed and the snacks at the pool bar were better. We would have liked some background music around the pool as it can be boring. The animation team come and do zumba etc..but play the same few songs everyday, after 2 weeks this can get tiresome.
Food is good although I never ate anything that could be described as hot. Even if we want for dinner at the very beginning of service you were lucky to get something luke warm. Having said that we had no major complaints about the food.
Entertainment was hit and miss. The acts brought in from outside the hotel were good. The animation team tried hard but honestly some of their evening acts were terrible. Dancing to songs and basically shouting woo woo repeatedly. Avoid the comedy act too. We had absolutely no idea what they were doing, it was excruciating!
Before we came here we saw people complaining that the German's receiving preferential treatment. I thought this would be untrue however we did experience this. Being overlooked at the bar etc...sat waiting an age for drinks at mealtimes. Some staff were very friendly with the Germans but struggled to even say hello to us.
We enjoyed the seating area up at the main bar near reception however again it seems other people are given a different level of service. Some people are able to reserve seats outside. I have never known an all inclusive hotel to do this. Also at this bar we were told we could not ask for drinks at the bar however we observed many Germans doing just that? We had to sit and wait for the waiters to take our orders which was infuriating as at times we were sat 30 mins without a drink. You were also not able to order 2 at a time. Service at Safarri much better!
