Excellent Hotel
We had a lovely holiday for two weeks All/inc couldnt fault the food always plenty of choice and the themed restaurants were also good. The drinks were also good and some good cocktails !! The staff were always friendly and helpful.
The Hotel is very clean and modern lovely pools but when i was there in October they were freezing !!!! The hotel has its own beach small but pretty the sea was warm even in October,
My only minor gripes about this hotel its a little out of the way of any little shops bars etc but there is a very good bus service to Rhodes town. There is not really any entertainment this could be greatly improved.
All in All a lovely hotel and would recommend it

Upon arrival we were greeted with very efficient reception staff, given a layout plan of the hotel, restaurants, pools and directions to our room which was first class (no 184) with lovely seaviews, above Bella Vista Bar-but have to say heard no noise from the bar.

The Athina restaurant which serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellant, very efficiently managed, always plenty of options for all meals, although could be a little warmer..but hey who wants to eat hot..hot food in a hot climate?

Teatros the Italian themed restaurant was 1st class..but book as soon as you arrive because its very popular. Greek themed evening by the lower pool was also good and again book early to avoid disappointment!

The staff at this hotel were so very helpful, friendly and efficient and we couldnt thank then enough..they truly made our holiday!

Would definately recommend this hotel and we will return!

Fantastic hotel, huge bedroom/lounge, jacuzzi bath, our own private pool, beautifully laid out help yourself eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very pleasant staff serving you in the dinning room and bar. All inclusive meant our cocktails as well so no need to have your wallet with you, although a few Erours for tips is nice. Only two slight moans, the swimmng pools could have easily been solar heated, they were a bit chilly, and no evening entertainment. A dvd libary would have been good. Saying that it was end of season, and we had a lovely stay, I think it would have been too hot and crowded for us in peak season.

Room Tip: Geat a juniour suit with your own pool

Arrived about 4am,quickly booked in and taken on buggy to our lovely room, jacuzzi bath, loads of storage space and a nice pool just outside, didn't go in any of the pools as they were freezing, weather ok ,no rain.beds are very uncomfatable as others have stated, cleaners very good clean towels every day,the main gripe I have is with the flies, they are everywhere, even as I'm writing this review in lounge I am getting dive bombed,no electric fly units in whole of hotel, god knows what it must be like in hot weather,it's terrible now.food fairly good staff pleasant, good cocktails, had entertainment for a few days, kids mini disco, karaoke and act walking on glass etc but that seemed to be specially for a load of guests that arrived for a few days then went home, needs to sort out the fly problem if its to call itself a 5 star

When you enter the reception area of this hotel it looks very grand. The reception staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The hotel is spread over a large area, golf buggy transport provided to get you and your luggage to your room/suite, if you are a good way from the main building.
Maybe it was because it was the last week of the season, but found there was a sad lack of facilities. The A/C was also off so the room and some of the public areas, especially the restaurant, were uncomfortably hot and humid at times.
The staff are all friendly, efficient and obliging. Sometimes there did seem to few staff, maybe it was due to it being the end of the season. The hotel was nowhere near full, but there were still queues waiting for a table at dinner.
The hotel location is not ideal. It is not in the sort of location/area the encourages an evening stroll to the local taverna, because there are none!! At least there is no loud music to disturb a good nights sleep.
The main restaurant food was well presented and of very good quality. Although there was plenty of choice at the buffet, it did seem to be quite repetitive. Only one theme night (Chinese) during our 7 night stay.
The meal in the Italian themed a la carte restaurant was OK. Disappointed that there was only a very limited choice, as it was more like a set menu than a la carte. The Greek restaurant was far better.
If you enjoy a quiet tranquil holiday just lazing by the pool, then you'll enjoy Kresten Royal. If you like something more lively, then give it a miss.
We had a Junior Suite for a week at the end of October. The suite was spacious and reasonably comfortable. Having our own 8 metre pool was a nice touch, just a pity it was to cold to spend any length of time in. This was also true of the two main pools and the indoor pool was not that warm. The sea was warmer than all the pools!
Tea and coffee making facilities are standard, but housekeeping are not that efficient at replenishing what you use. There is a TV, but the only English channel was the BBC World News channel. There is also a DVD player.
As for value. We booked through Secret Escapes and got a 60% discount. If I had paid full brochure price I would be asking for a refund. It is a nice hotel, but not the 5 star it has been given.

Room Tip: Suites and Junior suites have there own pool. All rooms face north but have a view of the sea.

Having transferred to a standard room in this hotel from a VERY disappointing 4* nearby, we were well pleased.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
The main Buffet Restaurant provided a large selection of both hot and cold dishes, many with a strong local influence.
The Italian themed Fine Dining Restaurant fully lived up to its name and the Greek Taverna also scored top marks.
The each at the hotel is non existant but there are a number of alternatives within easy reach by taxi or bus.
We found the staff to be well trained, friendly and obliging. Particularly responsive to a kind word or a smile.
Sleep quality was excellent with no loud intrusive "music" to disturb the tranquility.
We stayed 8 nights as a couple in October 2012.

We have just returned after a wonderful 2nd Honeymoon at the Kresten Royal. Upon arrival we were very pleased with what we saw, the Reception staff were brilliant we were taken to our room in one of the golf buggies we felt like royalty. Our room (829) was lovely very clean, lovely views and very central to the hotels amenities. Always cleaned every day and clean towels even though they could do with new white ones as a bit grey. The safety deposit box is free which you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

The main restaurant was brilliant always plenty to choose from, the only thing we thought was sometimes the food was not hot enough for us. The staff are excellent always clearing away used plates and asking if you wanted any other drinks. The two girls who ran the restaurant were extremely efficient and kept the place running smoothly at all times. We loved both the Italian and the Greek you do not have to pay any extra for these.

The pools were beautiful and very clean except very cold. Plenty of sunbeds to choose from, we mostly used the large pool near the reception as it was always quiet.

The bars and choice of drinks were excellent. The staff were always friendly and worked very hard.

We felt the hotel would benefit from entertainment as there was none and the hotel felt it had no atmosphere. There is a lot of space and they could easily put an entertainment area somewhere for those who want it.

To be honest we felt we were in a 5 star hotel for appearance and cleanliness and staff. There will always be little things that perhaps you would not have or do but you cant please everyone.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed it and would definately recommend to our friends. We hope to be back in the summer with our son.
