“A perfect resort for family fun”
Reviewed November 1, 2010

This is a larger Sunwing than some of the others I have visited, but it is nevertheless very pleasant and activities are placed over a large area so it doesn’t feel too crowded. It is a great family hotel! Every detail is thought of, from the shaded baby pools and children's activities with lollo and bernie to evening shows, restaurants and menus adapted for children. Nothing that can cause problems, everything goes easily and smoothly, the kids are happy and parents can "relax". The restaurant La Tasca is fabulously located overlooking the Mediterranean Sea but you get tired of the menus pretty fast, luckily they have good beer and wine :-) Rooms are pretty basic but very functional and comfortable, all very clean and tidy. Beds and pillows are great, you sleep like a baby!

An ideal holiday destination for family fun, but for everyone else Sunwing can probably get a bit too noisy, at least during high season.

Very nice hotel, excellent food even in the all incl. part, VERY patient staff in the restaurant but unfortunately not enough space and big enough swimming pools in high season when all kids wanna be in the pool area. This is perfect for the kids though and for parents wanting to enjoy holiday because the kids are having a nice time. Also a small motor arena for the kids just outside the main entrance with electric gocarts etc was a hit after dinner. All in all this must be a perfect spot in low season, but avoid in high season.

Me and my husband, to kids both age 13 stayed there for a week in may. Lovely apartment, clean and nice, plenty of lovely pools and a nice beach. We had all inclusive, but it did not work for us. Same food and drinks for lunch and dinner, so if you dont want too drink rosewine all the time : stay away.. The meals was in a big dining room with lot of noisy people and plenty of kids.. that is not my idea of a romatic evening. In the evening there was a show, but the hotel was " right in the middel of nowhere " so we were stuck on the hotel and after som days that was quite boring..The kids had a great time, but the adults missed the grecce feeling, we feelt we could be enywere in the world. But if you have small kids and dont want to walk around, this is a great place

Me and my husband stayed here for two weeks with our daughter, aged 7, and son, aged 1 at the time. We booked a "Happy Baby" room which had some extras for our little one. Our room had a terrace facing the pool area.

Rooms clean but need some freshening up. Very basic and not totally what you would expect at a 4-star resort.

Great shows and activities for children. Very nice breakfast, but the other food is not worth getting excited over.

Nothing really within walking distance; a couple of souvenir shops and a smaller supermarket.

Nice pool area for all ages, and a few steps down the hill is the beach. Fantastic!

Staff is helpful but not exactly over-friendly and had charged our room bill for meals that had already been paid for in cash. When pointing this out, they didn't apologize at all - in fact, they muttered over the extra paperwork it caused.

GOOD

The Pool area is very nice - one of them is meant for adults - sadly it's not respected...

The Beach is a short walk away and the water is very nice.

The rooms are kept clean and the beds are nice.

The Breakfast buffet is slightly above average - only problem is that they use canned fruit instead of fresh ones. And the juice is watered down as usual...

The restaurant at the hotel is nice - food is good.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
BAD

It's too far from everything to walk

A Taxi is hard to come buy - people often waited more than 20 min.

Didn't like the restaurant at the beach - called L Tasca I think - both food and service was bad.

It's very children friendly - which is good if you have children :-)!!

We stayed at Sunwing Resort in Kalithea Rhodos at it was a lot more that I was expecting. It took 4 hours from Stavanger, just about right if you go with little ones. Incredibly green conscious and eco-friendly, you actually have to recycle your own stuff. We stayed for a week and we found a little note saying that the room was not going to be cleaned on tuesday and friday. It wasn't necessary at all and I like that environmentally conscious life. The rooms are not luxurious at all, a bit on the old side, however we pay extra for a bigger suite. It was worth it. The location of our room was excellent, away from the pool (4 minute walk ) and just 2 minute walk from the beach. There are lots of activities for kids, loved the "bears live show" in the evenings from 8 - 9 pm great time killing to get the kids ready for bed. They sing and dance and have lots of fun.

There is one pool restaurant and 1 big restaurant and you can also walk to the Sunwing resort and eat at their restaurant too, the menu is the same and you get a bit bored about it. However, there is a mini-market where you can find lots of things to save your day.

If I had the chance, I would definitely go back, and make sure we have a suite again. On the last day, our flight was schedule for midnight so we were given a different room, smaller though, for 20 euros and we could keep it until 6:00 pm. The suite was quite small but it all depends what you are looking for during your stay.

The beach was really lovely, they charge about 2 or 3 euros per person….
