“Good w. kids, decent accomodations.”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

We stayed here for 1 week (2 adults, 3 kids) and enjoyed it. The pools were good, the beach really close (you can haggle with the guy that rents out jetski´s) . The Lollo & Bernie club had stuff for the kids to do as well. Nice fitness center and a running track around the premises (that track has some very steep inclines and declines, be warned ;) )
cons: The beds were not that comfortable, and you do not want to sleep with the doors open (mosquitoes....) and they do not turn on the A/C until july.
The staff were nice and helpful.
we had the all-inclusive package, the food was ok but dont expect a culinary experience :)

Stayed (2 adults + 2 kids) in Poseidon with ground terrace (the older rooms). Short acces to the beach and pools and La Tasca restaura´nt at Beach. The room was ok, nothing exclusive. The pool areas were good, but nothing exclusive. The Braekfast and restaurant were also good, but again, nothing exclusive. All in all average Sunwing level as previously in other Sunwing resorts.

But the whole concept worked well for our family holiday. The beach is great with clear water and things to explore - the two Tennis courts are plus - and there is a lmini Tivoli for kids attached to the Hotel - Rodos Town for shopping is just 7 min away by taxi.

The Hotel staff were really service minded and kind - this could be related to the fact that it was early start of the season. There were plenty of good activities for the kids - but mainly in swedish.

Room Tip: The new Family rooms facing the sea at Poseidon looked nice

My family and I have been to Rhodes 3 times before. This is the best hotel we have been to. Good apartments / rooms, 3 pool areas, pool for small children, large areas of grass, 3 restaurants, small children eat free, free wifi all over the hotel area, lovely private beach belonging to the hotel guests. We will definitely come back again to this hotel...!

Room Tip: Ariadne area

Excellent place for young families - heaven on earth for the kids. We stayed in a "Royal Family Suite" which was super. Real attention to every detail (with one tiny exception - we would have liked a bit more light in the bathroom) otherwise - just perfect. The breakfasts were excellent, with a great choice. We ate 3 meals in the restaurants, which were okay (and free for the kids), but there are masses of excellent places to choose from in the old town of Rhodes which is only 10 minutes away by taxi (trip costs 7euros / May 2014).

Room Tip: Triton "Royal Family Suite" - with private swimming pool

We just came back from a one-week stay at Sunwing Kallithea.

If you are looking for a baby/child-friendly place where parents can also relax, this is the place for you (conversely, if you are looking for a quiet, romantic place, this is probably not the place for you). The resort has six pools, 2 of which are shaded and only 30cm deep, so perfect for young kids. There are tons of activities for kids of all age -some paying, some free. We went to 'Miniland' almost every day with our 21 months old daughter. They had face painting, disco, movies, and arts and crafts. In the early evenings, there were kids shows. The entire staff was top-notch and incredibly kind to us and our daughter, and the cleaning staff was very accommodating around her nap schedule.

Our apartment in Helios had everything we needed (hot shower, comfortable beds- the Scandinavian standard of two single beds side by side, all the cutleries and appliances we needed). It is true, however, that the sliding doors separating the bedroom to the living room do not provide much of a protection against noise.

As other people mentioned, the food at the hotel was our biggest disappointment. Even without choosing the all inclusive option, we still had a few meals at Fino/La Tasca/Lime Bar restaurants, and lets just say that the food was not really inspired. It is definitively worth taking a cab/bus and going to eat great food in Rhodes city. We absolutely loved "Agalma" in Rhodes. They make delicious, affordable and authentic Greek food, and they too were incredibly baby/child-friendly. Do not let the cab fare or bus ride deter you from leaving the resort. It only costs a few Euros and take a couple of minutes.

We bought this trip last minute, and got a fantastic deal. I would not recommend picking the all-inclusive option, given the disappointing quality of the food. Instead, explore Rhodes/Kallithea and Koskinou, where there are many excellent restaurants.

We were at the same hotel 3 years ago, and ended up here again. Not because it was great the last time, but it had a 2-bedroom apartment available. Our rooom (R.O.O.M. family suite) was nice with good beds and relatively large bedrooms. The 2 tiled bathrooms both had showers, but for some reason the floor in the shower is just one cm lower than the rest of the bathroom floor. It's almost impossible to take a shower without flooding the floor outside the shower. :-(

The water pressure isn't great, but sufficient, and there was always enough hot water available.
The refrigerator was struggling to keep the water cold, even at max. cooling. Very nice view from the balcony. Although smoking is not allowed inside, people do smoke on the balcony and by the pools. The guests staying in the room below us were smokers, which meant that we were forced to go inside both in the morning and in the evening due to tobacco smoke. :(

Although there are 3 restaurants, one for the inclusive meals/buffets, one "fast food" and one "a la carte", the food is nothing to write home about. Some of the staff looks like they would rather be somewhere else, and after a couple of days, we found it hard to figure out anything from the menu that we wanted to eat.

Pools are very nice, and clearly aimed at the children.

The beach is OK, although not very suitable for small children. It get's deep very quickly, and there are lot of small rocks that can be painful to step on. If there is wind, it's usually blowing away from the beach which means your air madrass could get away in a hurry! :)
Sun beds are free at the pools, but €4/day at the beach.

Toilets on the beach are disgusting. Really a shame for the area. Unless you really NEED to go, you would not like to use them at all.

Note the the hotel shuts of the air condition cooling between 0800 and 1600. We got sick this holiday, and it was a pain to have to stay in the room without cooling all day (38 degrees outside). According to the hotel management, they could not override the system. :(

The last time we went on a old fashion charter holiday is probably 10years ago, now after a short refresh I know it will be at least another 10years before we would like to refresh again!

The hotel and location is actually good, with friendly staff and ok food (don't know about all inc) but ruined of 1700 guest, making the pools seem way to small and everyday at around 13 hours they will have dirty water, because of the overload.

The breakfast is another show, short story totally kaos!

I think with half the guests it could have been near perfect.

The lollo and bernie shows is only in swedish.
