After a few days in Marakech and a great scrub down at the Hamman we made our way by local bus to Amizmiz and then took a taxi the short distance to Dar Achorafa. What a beautiful place to stay. We had our own suite with double doors leading to the pool. A donkey gently braying in the distance, peacocks wondering by as we lounged by the pool, surrounded by the typical mud brick walls...all so Moroccan.....Olive trees laden with fruit, a rosemary hedge, basil in the walkway and in amongst the rocks in the distance prickly pear and cacti.
When you walk through the local village, breathing the mountain air and feeling the peacefulness of this exquisite place, you feel touched by the life of the locals in this area and you feel you are experiencing something more than a tourist's glimpse.
Others have already commented on the fabulous food and the wonderful hospitality of the hosts, and we wholeheartedly agree...A truly memorable experience
