Spent a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon with my Sister having a couple of drinks and listening to a live accoustic set outside in the sunshine. Fabulous atmosphere. We did return in the evening for a meal but my young niece was not on form and we were concious of distrubing other diners so had a takeway instead, it was a bit chilly to sit outside by this point or else we woudl have doen that instead, next time :-)

Visited here while staying at a nearby Bach in Leigh. What an amazing welcome on a very busy quiz night. Staff where friendly and fun, nothing was a big deal, relaxed atmosphere. We dined outside under a canopy, even though it was raining we were warm with the heater above us and could have had some homely blankets if we needed. The outside fireplace was going too creating a great feel. Food was exceptional, twice cooked hock was delicious as were the special of BBQ Ribs. value for money and some. So god we returned the following day for lunch. Big thank you for adding to my Sisters' 40th celebrations. Keep it up.

We flew up to Auckland a couple of Sunday's ago, and my cousin drove us to Matakana. It;s a beautiful scenic drive on the way.

We were already heading to a winery for lunch, but stopped here for a drink first, after looking around the market.

The pub is right in the middle of the small town, and directly across the road from the markets, shops and cinema etc.

Although not eating ourselves, we did look through the food menu and found a large selection of dishes. Also, everyone we saw who was eating, looked very satisfied.

The pub had a lovely atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating!

After seeing the other reviews, I would love to go back at night and listen to the live bands etc.

Worth a visit!!
