“No eye for details”

We were here for a conference recently and found that the staff has no eye for details. we entered the conference room to find that the AC was not working, the set-up was not as per our brief and for the first half hour there was no one from the banqueting team to even help for the same. We spent 3 hours without AC in our meeting room - which had no other ventilation on a hot day. Even the room that they next shifted us to, had no AC controls which meant that the temperature stayed at 18 degrees through the rest of the 2.5 days.
The food quality and menu was good though. Rooms are OK and emit a mould-kind smell. Accessories are getting jaded and pool was quite dirty on the one attempt I made at swimming. Very average experience for the money paid. 3-4 star experience.

We had a 3-day trip at this Excellent property.It is a good property to relax over the weekend.It has activities for all ages like it has a big Swimming Pool.Steam,Library,Gymnasium and the best part is at night a Pianist come to play at a Piano Bar and plays so nicely that you will feel soothing.We had gone when it was Diwali so the staff had decorated the hotel beautifully and we felt like we were standing in a maze of lights.It was also our Anniversary and they had given us a Complimentary Chocolate Cake.There was nice view of Sunset from the Hotel.The Rooms were very Spacious and Comfy.The Room Service was also quick.The Internet only worked in the Reception not in the rooms.Still we had fun as there were many activities.It is worth for a Relaxing and Peaceful Vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: The Villas have a Lakeview and some Ground Floor Rooms have a direct entrance to the Swimming Pool.

The Radisson at Alibaug is a good property to go and relax over the weekend. It has all the amenities like a swimming pool, games, bar, lounge, etc. The food is average and the service is really slow. The staff take a lot of time for simple requests. I asked for a glass of hot water and it came after 30 mins. Overall, a good place to go to in a large group.

Went to Radisson Blue Resort & Spa, Alibaug on a weekend. Relaxing break ,just three hours drive from mumbai.The overall experience was a very pleasant one.
The food was good but not excellent. The buffet gives you options to choose thus leaving something to eat even if you don't like some of the food.
Rooms were very spacious and clean. House keeping was excellent, they were there whenever we called them. The reception staff is very cordial too. Transferring luggages to room & out was done very smoothly. The pool is very big and extremely clean. It's a huge property to walk around within premises itself. I suggest refrain from any sight seeing and instead spend time in the hotel.
On the whole a very pleasant experience, I wish to come again and stay here next time.

Room Tip: Try to get pool side room.

We were a big group and arrived few hours early, yet they managed early check-ins for a few rooms. Just as we were appreciating this, they unfortunately offered us a welcome drink. Our smiles quickly turned into grimaces! If this was anything to go by, the food wasn’t going to be a highlight.

The rooms were comfortable but lacking in aesthetic appeal. The wall behind the bed was missing a random portion of white floral design, the bathroom fittings were old and unappealing, the shower above the tub had just a sliver of glass panel which didn’t begin to keep the water from splashing outside. One shower and the entire bathroom floor gets wet, unless you’re okay sitting inside the tub in yogic meditation, holding the hand-shower above your head.

The food was okay; definitely not 5-star quality.

The conference hall was good but the coffee bad. (They didn’t even have a coffee machine. Black coffee meant ‘instant coffee’ and hot water!) Cups and saucers were placed at one end along with tea-bags and the like, white hot water at another end. So black tea included a walk.
In précis, the Radisson Blue is well-intentioned but not well thought-through.

Let me say, this resort has not lived up to my expectations. We stayed here 2nights from Saturday until Monday noon. (20/Oct - 22/Oct)

1. Road to the resort: Although I cannot complain about the road, but the least they could have done is put up signs that said this road leads to the resort. We zoomed around 10kms to figure out a shady lane that led to the resort.

2. Food: When we reached in the afternoon, we were famished. The buffet spread was not exciting at all and more so the food was bland. The main thing to note is the variety.
xx Paneer (Cottage cheese) sabzi in Lunch and Dinner on both days.
xx There was a Chinese vegetable preparation in red sauce which was similarly.

Food was extremely oily.

Lunch on Day 2, they had Gobi (cauliflower) as a starter, salad and main course dish. this is hilarious. !!! Upon requesting the staff and the chef (who was more than helpful/friendly), we were given fresh dishes from the kitchen. A simple thing like live counter pasta was tasteless. Only after requesting, the chef accommodated our request and made fresh red sauce pasta. An orange drink for Lunch, barely even tasted orange. I guess they were just playing with out taste buds !

However, I will note that the staff in the restaurant as well as the chef were kind / friendly / helpful and once we requested, they tried to make us comfortable.

The question here is, DOESN'T Radisson believe that a little variety would be nice ?

3. Pool area: The pool side bar had a deserted look with no one to take our order. Upon ordering a sangria, we were told 10minutes later that they did not have it. There were insects floating around the seating area. When we requested the security guy around, no one came to pick it up. This happened on several occasions. Since my friend had a kid, he was a little scared. Again, sadly NO ONE CARED.

They is wooden flooring around the pool area, which to our dismay was broken in 1-2 places. Upon complaining at the reception we were told they are aware of the situation and have ordered to repair it soon. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT SOON MEANS HERE.

4. The Game Room: For the entire duration of our trip, whenever we went there to play pool or tennis, we requested that the air conditioning be switched on. We were promptly told it is. Only on the last day upon making an issue we were told that the a/c has not been working for the past few days and it was under service/repairs. To play pool they had managed to arrange only one cue stick. Do people usually play pool with one cue stick only ? They couldn't manage 2 cue sticks ?

5. Tennis: We thought why not play tennis instead in the open. To our dismay they had only 2 rackets. I asked what if we choose to play doubles? The answer was SORRY. Wow. thanks!
let me first clarify, the chef was very kind and understanding and tried to make us feel special by making food specially when we complained.

6. The Spa: My wife went for a spa treatment that was to be for 50minutes. She was there for 4.00pm appointment. To both our shock and horror, the treatment was finished in 25mins. She was asked to take a shower. In 30minutes she was out. Obviously she went livid. Not only that, but the masseuse could barely understand English and spoke broken Hindi. It was impossible to communicate. After my wife created a ruckus, we were told that they are sorry and will not charge us. I told the manager, we come here to enjoy and relax and not be mistreated and left. We had another spa treatment scheduled next day, which we promptly cancelled.

We did complain to the reception at the time of leaving, We have left a feedback/comment form. But I guess, we will never hear from them again ! I don't expect to either.I guess in the end, this trip was hardly fun. We left angry / frustrated and tired. Money wasted !! For this kind of service, Prakruti Resorts would have been far better and cheaper. Hope this helps all fellow travellers / friends who intend to visit this property in the near future.

The Approach
The hotel stands out like a anomaly to the surroundings. The roads are really bad from Mumbai and though distance wise it is not much it takes a lifetime to get there. There is no signages as you come near 10 kms of the resort. So there is a high chance you will miss one tiny sign on the road that says 'take the right her'. My suggestion is to take the ferry from Mumbai. It takes 45 minutes and they have amazing AC ferries that are real nice. Then once you are at Mandwa take the bus which will take another 30 minutes.

The Resort
This is what the review is about. It's a vast sprawling space with water outside your rooms, if you are on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious and the people courteous. If you are looking to chill this is the right place. Very nicely done up place. The food is nice and the spread is adequate. Since i was there on a non week day they did not serve buffet. Weekends tend to get a rush while on weekdays there are hardly any visitors.
