We chose to stay at the Sheaf of Arrows as a base for Geocaching in the area. We arrived about 8pm at night and were shown to Room 2 which was nicely decorated and very clean. As well as the room key we were given the code for the security door leading from the main pub.
When we rang to enquire about the rooms we'd asked what time the breakfast would be served, we were told 7am-10am, unfortunately when we arrived they forgot to ask us what time we wanted our breakfast so they weren't prepared for us the following morning at 7am but it wasn't a problem, the host Karen was very friendly and cooked a lovely full English breakfast for us.
If we had to mention the downsides of our stay it would be that there was no hot water to the very small en suite sink, the shower head would not stay up so you had to hold it in place as you showered and the room took a long time to heat up with the small heater provided as the radiators were turned off.
There is no mobile phone coverage in the village but a useful payphone is provided in the bar if needed.
All in all a pleasant stay.
