“Expensive”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

A very short and not especially scenic steam train ride. (Costs just under £10 per adult for the train, fortunetely our two children are both under 2 years old and didn't cost.). Arrives at a farm with a cafe 'shed' and lots of playgroup type toys (mostly broken ride-ons) on a small field. Costs £3 per adult and £3 per child just to get in! My son is only 2 years old and only just old enough to play with the toys! There is nothing else to do at the end of the line other than wait on the platform for the train back.

Since it started pouring with rain whilst we were in the farm 'park', my son didn't really get to play much anyway!

Save your money and go somewhere else on your holiday.

“Kids love it”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

Something different for a small town to offer, yes a little on the expensive side but the up keep of this venture, only open during the summer justifies the cost, kids love it, lovely countryside, cheap farm park at the end, wasn't always there, back to basics, again kids love it and that's what matters at the end if the day.

“A steam railway of real character”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

This narrow gauge line, built on an old trackbed, is the creation of one couple over many years. Motive power is in the hands of really ancient steam locomotives and is a pleasant amble through a rural landscape. Do visit the museum
