“Christmas Break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

We stayed at Bamham Farm Cottages Christmas 2012. We were all vary impressed with the whole site, lovely cottages and views. When we entered our cottage we were greeted with a lovely warm glowing fire, a letter greeting our family accompanied by a Cornish tea. Simon arrived and greeted us all, informing us how to obtain more fuel, about the swimming pool and games room plus to contact him if we needed anything at all. The Wi-Fi connection was difficult to access. There was a little damp in the down stairs loo, but hey it is an old farm building!! we were very comfortable and warm for the whole of our stay. We could have done with a few more mugs and possible a dehumidifier. Sorry about the spelling!! We all agreed that if we needed to stay near our daughter/sister again this would be the place. Mills & Kennedy families.

We stayed at Bamham Farm Cottages at the beginning of February. As 2 adults with a young baby we were nervous about being away from home comforts and certainly shouldn't have worried. We had all the home comforts we needed. We contacted Simon, the owner, several times about a cot and to make sure we have a microwave as a steriliser and he was very helful in ensuring we had everything we needed.
We arrived (early, to which Simon was happy with) to a nice warm cottage, fire lit and wlecome pack. It was a very cold week but the cottage heating was great and plenty of logs for the log burner. It was very easy to get more when we ran out.
The cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable. The setting is beautiful and would be lovely for BBQ's in the summer. We were in Dunheved.
Facilities here are great. We chose Bamham as its one of the few in Cornwall that keeps their pool open in the winter months. The pool water and the air temperature in the barn were perfect.
There's a games room and extra storage plus loads of information in the play barn too, which is great for children of all ages.
We have no compaints at all (and find the 2 recent awful reviews on here very hard to beleive).

We booked Welsummer for a couple of days just after the New Year. It was the perfect place to escape to after all the chaos and festivities of Christmas! Wood burner, good red wine and some board games and we battened down the hatches! Our family of three children aged 2-9, my lovely step daughter from the States (who adored staying in a little cottage out in the beautiful Cornish countryside) and our dear old Labrador were all catered for brilliantly with clean and well kept facilities. A great escape! Enjoyed by all.

Me and my other half stayed here in January. It's was a peaceful tranquil stay. Beautiful scenery and clean warm cottages. Simon the owner ensured everything was provided for and when requested anything there was no delay in dealing with our request. The pool was clean and just the right temprature. The games room even had a little DVD collection which was nice. Location was perfect just a short drive from all the attractions. Overall a perfect short romantic stay for two. Couldn't complain even the slightest. Would definitely recommend.

I have just returned from a 4 day break at Bamham Farm Cottages during half-term with my 2
teenage sons and couldn't have had a better time, unless the owner could have arranged for it be a little warmer :-) We arrived to a warm, welcoming cottage thanks to the fire being lit beforehand by Simon, the owner - an added "personal" touch, which was much appreciated. The cottage was lovely and had everything in it we needed for our time away. Having the swimming pool and games room for the boys was fantastic and kept them occupied for many an hour. It was nice to see the owner had thought not only of the younger children when he put in the soft play area but the older ones as well ... as they are the ones that are often forgotten about. Simon was very friendly and happy to help us out with any questions we had .... indeed recommending
places to visit, eat etc. He appeared very knowledgeable of the delights Cornwall had to offer. I would highly recomend Bamham Farm Cottages for a holiday and will definately be returning in the not too distant future, as well as telling my friends about this little haven. Thank you very much, see you again soon.

PS - I feel compelled to write a comment about the two negative reviews the people who have stayed before me have left. I am astounded that they have stayed in the same place as I have as my experience of Bamham Farm Cottages appears to be completely different from theirs, in every shape and form. I do hope if you are considering going to BFC then you will read all the reviews that have been left, as a big majority of them have been good/excellant ..... and make your own judgment.

Room Tip: If you get a chance I would recommend Welsummer Cottage, not only is it very spacious but also has a...

We are just heading back from one of the best family holidays in Cornwall we have ever had the pleasure to experience. Bamham Farm Cottages had been recommended to me by several friends and colleagues who have stayed there over the last couple of years and they absolutely did not disappoint. I spend much of my professional life travelling the world which necessitates spending time away from my family, therefore a week spent together, along with our black labrador, is precious and Cornwall remains just as much of a pull as it always did. The three bedroom cottage we stayed in was extremely well appointed and very spacious with real Cornish slate floors, comfortable beds and all the kitchen equipment we could wish for. After a longer than expected trip down, due to an accident on the M4, we were more than delighted with the welcome that awaited our arrival. The cottage was warm, the woodburning stove had been lit for us and a bag of logs was ready and waiting next to the stove, the lights were on and waiting on the kitchen table was a complimentary bag of Saffron buns, enough for us all, a pint of locally produced milk and some Cornish tea bags. Much revived, the kids and I went to investigate the indoor pool to find it warm and spacious. The large available safe outdoor space was something we all very much appreciated. There is a big field, perfect for children and dogs to run around and let off steam in. There is a perfectly placed picnic table offering miles of open views across farmland to the Dartmoor hills in the distance - heaven to your average London dweller. At this point we feel we must make particular comment on the owner, Simon. In my travel experience, the owners/managers/employees of hotels and self catering accommodation can be the making or breaking of a holiday. In our view, Simon is the epitome of a professional accommodation provider. We discovered that he had personally lit the woodburner for us, coming back later to keep it stoked and turn the lights on when we had rung to let him know we were held up in traffic and would be later than anticipated. He popped round to see us once we had arrived and settled in and could not have been more helpful and welcoming with local information as well as discounted tickets for the Eden Project. After that, Simon left us to enjoy our holiday in peace, but in the knowledge that he was only a phone call away should we require anything. We were also very pleased with the cleanliness of the cottage and the use of green cleaning products, something we are very much in favour of. I can't speak highly enough of Bamham Farm Cottages as a family holiday destination. This is a business that knows how to provide an excellent service in its field. We will be back and will recommend it to everyone.

Tranquil location in beautiful Cornwall. I'm sure you can find somewhere much nicer to stay.

Dirty floors, tired furniture.unfriendly welcome by the owner. Information pack had no Internet code and its lovely to look at a black hole on a wood burner we had to request logs. I forgot to say also a damp smell obviously trying to be disguised by bleach.

This accommodation is allegedly approved, they must only visit once and have all hands to the deck just before the visit. It was very rough and worn round the edges.
The gentleman owner we wish we could call him that was rude, not welcoming shows no understanding or empathy to what our needs where. He is the one that should be removed from this accommodation, with a new owner I'm sure it would be a different place and a lovely place to stay.

Please do not waste your money staying here, in a recession we are all working harder than ever for our money, please don't waste it here!

Will be interested to see if the owner leaves a comment as he has done with others, because I can assure you he doesn't take on comments here as he promises to.
