Very intimate setting - the park is bigger than I expected. This is a great place for children to visit.

The Otter sanctuary is utterly charming, spent many hours there, loved watching the otters being fed and taking lots of photos, Shame its hard to get good shots of the otters in some of the pens as you cant stand high enough to take photos over the fence ( I am only 5ft 3 though) Could watch the Otters all day long. Loved being able to get so close to the birds of pray, and being able to hold them, Shame there is no flying display though. Loved feeding the Deer, the stags are magnificent and the fawns SO CUTE. The little 3 legged Munchak deer is adorable and so tame. Loved feeding the wallabies' and seeing the baby joey's. First time I have seen a white Peacock which is stunning.

Had a look at other comments on here and was surprised to see
quite a few that the Tea room are reasonably priced, we Definitely didn't think so, £ 8.80 for 2 small pieces of Quiche with nothing else with them, soggy pastry and heated in a microwave !!! thought it was quite a rip off to be honest and somewhat spoilt the day, also had to wait about 40 minuets for it. Pasties are about the same prise.
That said, the entrance fee is very good value for money and would go again (with a packed lunch) and would recommend it.

This place was marked on an old road atlas and as the weather was poor we thought we would check it out. The entry fee was modest, but we expect that there would be little to see. The staff were all excellent, very helpful and allowed us to go in and out as we pleased, givne we had a dog which we could not take in. This worked out perfect as we jhad just missed one otter tour / feeding session.

In addition to otters there were deer, wallabies, ducks, geese, peacocks, giant rabbits, birs of prey, dormice and others. There are plenty of tables to eat at and the homemade food in the cafe looked sumptuous and very reasonably priced.

We had seen a raptor display before so had our lunch while this was going on and joined the otter tour & feed. This was done in a very informative and interesting way by a very enthusiastic guide. It was first class.

Many larger centres could learn a thing or two from this smaller scale operation which was excellent, including the VFM (value for money) department. Just go!
