We parked the scooter in front of a restaurant and bought one drink instead for paying for the parking place. When we arrived it came a lot of running children that wantet to take photo of us for us or rent us a sled for 50.000D and we said no think you. But they followed us all the way up and was trying so much to get money from us. That ruind the visit of this place and also because we were coming from the white Dunes it was not so interesting.

after the white sand, we come to the red sand...i'm not sure is it because of some little rain with winds...i can feel that the winds are really strong. compare with the white sands, i like the white sands more... but, we still come over here to explore our self right... still worth to be here.

If you've not been to sand dunes before, you would be impressed by the red sand dunes. As others have said, they aren't as good as the white dunes. Nonetheless a good place to see the sunset if you can walk far enough away from the crowd.

Regarding the kids, try not to be too harsh on them, they usually don't have a choice in being there in the sweltering heat. I've found that saying "no thank you" in Vietnamese generally works and they leave you alone.

You just need to remember, these are not the white dunes. As long as you realise that, just enjoy yourself there . I always show visitors this place and they always enjoy a quick look at these dunes. I usually enjoy a cold drink or ice cream at a cafe over the road from them that has ostrich rides and hires out sleds to slide down the dunes on. Recommended visit.

We did our trip for $6 with Mui Ne Backpackers - 6 of us in a jeep and we were very happy with it. The driver hardly spoke English but there was really not much need for him to be able to. The red dunes in some ways are a more interesting visit than the white dunes although not as visually stunning. The walk along/in the stream is relaxing given the surroundings. Climb up to the top of the first steep dune on your left and you'll be afforded some awesome views of the coast and the surrounding hills. Don't be fooled by the kids here, they'll claim they are guides but they aren't needed.
