We rented a scooter for 5$ 24h and used half a tank driving there. Drove from Mui Ne at 4:10am and arrived 5:13am the road is good and no problem to drive and ofcourse not so much traffic at that time. We use google map to find out how to get there the night before we went there. Not so hard to find if you prepare. We paid 20.000D at the entrance for us two. We was one of the first people to get there and that was so nice to see all the dunes with out food and ATV marks while the sun was rising. Hour later it was a lot of people driving these noisy atv's overall. We were really happy with our desicion to take a scooter and drive by our selv because we saw how short time the groups stayed there. If you want to rent a ATV it costs 300.000-400.000D 20 min, ride on a ostrich for one person 50.000D and sliding down the dunes 100.000D. Nice to be so early because around 7am it was getting really hot.

You can get a good view of the dunes and the vastness of it all. However, the ATVs racing around ruin the calmness of the place, though it is possible to walk far enough away so that you can't hear them.

Best to visit in the early morning or late afternoon when it's not too hot. Also, if y visit with a tour group you'll probably only be given a limited time here as they try to rush you round to all the sights.

We took a jeep trip to the dunes, from far you can see how beautiful the white sand dunes are. I was really excited getting there. But when we got there (BTW they charge 10k dong at the entrance) the dunes was busy with noisy ATVs, that was terrible, you actually cannot speak with the person next to you and always make sure that no one of them are running over you since they drive really wild and dangerous. When we got back to the agency we asked why they let them go drive there between the people? he said the the government haven't got there yet to handle that... any way you cant even take a picture there without some jeep or AVT will get in your way. I think it's only a matter of time until someone will get hurt there, if you do decide to go there - just try and make sure you are not the first one...

wonderful experience that i had.... rushing for the sunrise as the driver is late...and running all the way on the white sands dunes.... advise... not to wear sport shoes there.... it's really make u feel your leg very heavy to carry while you are running and climbing to the top of the sand dunes...
we went for sunrise, so the sands are cool.... nice.... and soft...there are the bike that you can rent to send u up with the limited time as 30 min...
we did meet some bike is coming over after the sunrise and shout to the tourist as "go back!!go back!!" i'm not sure why this happen... but we ignore... wahahaha....

We went there on a tour but walked everywhere because the quad bikes you could hire were an absolute rip off. The views were excellent and the white dunes were nice to see.
