“Nice pub in a lovely spot!”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Have been a few times now with friends for a weekend lunch or a midweek dinner and always enjoyed my visit.
It seems popular at all times which is obviously a good sign although it can get a bit packed and it looked like they even had door staff on one bank holiday although I can't swear to this.
Nice atmosphere and if you can bag a table that overlooks the canal those are the best seats!
Would recommend the Malteser Cheesecake if its on- mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

“A Little Gem”
Reviewed August 7, 2013 via mobile

Really good traditional pubs with good food are so far and between and all I can say is that The Navigation is lovely. We visited after taking our little girl to Eureka for that day and the food and atmosphere were second to none for the price.

“Traditional Pub”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

This traditional pub is in pleasant surroundings, easily accessible by road a short distance from Wharf street being the main road through Sowerby Bridge and via a lovely short stroll on a canal path from Sowerby Bridge Mooring's, there is a large car park at the Moorings if you wish to walk. Via road the ( Navvy ) as it is known by the locals has an ample private car park of its own.The Navvy is a warm friendly pub serving traditional beers and also serves a good variety of home made tasty food well prepared and presented, you can be assured of a very warm and freindly welcome from the land lady Lee and land lord Phil and their attentive bar staff. This venue is also ideal for any one travelling along the Manchester and Pennine waterways as it is easily accessible from the tow path.Booking a meal for a particular time is advisable at the weekend as food is cooked from fresh to order.

“Vegetarian Delight”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

If you are veggie and fed up with lasagne/risotto you should try the Navigation. There is usually at least five different veggie options, all of them offering something a bit different - in a turn up for the books I'm usually the last one to decide (I'm usually first - the veggie often doesn't actually have a choice!) what I want. The portions are very generous and you get plenty of veg accompaniment too.

“"Wonderful pub and location"”
Reviewed May 9, 2013 via mobile

Visited the navigation on bank holiday Monday for the first time.what a fantastic pub,the food was 1st class, not typical pub food, the two dishes we had were of high restaurant standard(see pictures). The food was fresh, hot and beautifully presented. The service was great and quite quick, despite being busy, food and drink served with a smile. The cask ale was wonderful too,a fantastic find, would really recommend this place, nice seating outside too on a sunny day.
