Party of eight went for a Father's Day lunch at the Prince of Wales, which had been recommended as a much improved place to eat. It was a disaster. Three of the party ordered asparagus soup for starter which was inedible verging on lethal. Stringy asparagus had been shredded but not sieved and the bowls were filled with long strands of completely indigestible material. Fortunately the two young children among us ordered something else. When it was pointed out to the Maitre D his response was a sullen glare and the price was not even deducted from the bill! The rest of the meal was typical of sub-standard restaurants with sub-standard so called chefs taking bookings well above their ability to serve their customers properly. Never again.
