“Disappointed (AGAIN)”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

We returned after 18 months when they were awful on a family birthday do in the belief that things must have changed. We were wrong.
There is something fundamentally wrong with the management of this venue who do not understand service.
The venue was about 10% full but you could die waiting for the waiter to bring a drink and it took almost 2 hrs to complete a short two course meal.
We ordered lamb and minute steak which were cooked well but the quality of the lamb was low with fat and gristle being a major factor. There was no service to get another drink with the meal.
We then ordered a chocolate tart and bitter chocolate ice cream and a green tea. The green tea came after ten minutes and after a further ten minutes a brownie with pistachio ice cream. OK we should not have eaten it and complained but we wanted to keep it to lunch not an 8 oclock dinner.
We eventually waved down a waiter serving another table he said a brownie was "Falcon Tart" but my disbelief persuaded him to admit that it could not be a tart without pastry.
The waiter came with the bill saying the chef wouldnt let him take it off so he was doing staff discount to get 80% of the cost of the pudding reduced.
OK so they noted it but to blame the kitchen when they are a business is just unprofessional and to distance himself from the food is not on.
There are many good pub/restaurants around this isnt one of them until they review their service completely or drop their price to pub food.

Excellent food and drink. Service very attentive and friendly. We had separate area of restaurant for large party and it was ideal for our number and convenience to the bar.

“pleasant surprise”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

I came here many years ago when it was a very old place, what a surprise when we just popped in for lunch by chance on the way back home.
it has had a makeover and its quite nice, there were two young gents serving and both were very pleasant and friendly. we decided to stay for lunch, and it was really nice, my husband had the suasages and mash which was really nice, but you would need to order veg if you are a little bit more peckish. the portion size is quite small without them. this would be a childs portion at The Lazy Cow in warwick. I had the best beefburger i have ever tasted the chips although nice were quite soggy and would have been nicer , with a little crispness to them.
we then had the lemon desert and the cheesecake, both were delicious but we did wait rather a long time, to get them. but we were impressed that without us saying anything, because we had to wait for desert it was deducted offf our bill as a gesture of apology. we will be returning to sample the sunday lunch next. they also have rooms which look nice and modern. we were told the rooms are always fully booked.

“Lovely food and friendly service”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

Good selection of food which was presented professionally but was filling too. We had butchers board starter, confit of duck and lemon and thyme stuffed chicken which we thoroughly enjoyed. Friendly service and lovely warm fire.

Lovely evening at The Falcon. Good staff, excellent menu and fantastic food. Sweet choice was disappointing following the Main Menu. I would be happy to return to The Falcon in the summer to sample the wonderful food and hopefully enjoy the garden's?
