We returned after 18 months when they were awful on a family birthday do in the belief that things must have changed. We were wrong.
There is something fundamentally wrong with the management of this venue who do not understand service.
The venue was about 10% full but you could die waiting for the waiter to bring a drink and it took almost 2 hrs to complete a short two course meal.
We ordered lamb and minute steak which were cooked well but the quality of the lamb was low with fat and gristle being a major factor. There was no service to get another drink with the meal.
We then ordered a chocolate tart and bitter chocolate ice cream and a green tea. The green tea came after ten minutes and after a further ten minutes a brownie with pistachio ice cream. OK we should not have eaten it and complained but we wanted to keep it to lunch not an 8 oclock dinner.
We eventually waved down a waiter serving another table he said a brownie was "Falcon Tart" but my disbelief persuaded him to admit that it could not be a tart without pastry.
The waiter came with the bill saying the chef wouldnt let him take it off so he was doing staff discount to get 80% of the cost of the pudding reduced.
OK so they noted it but to blame the kitchen when they are a business is just unprofessional and to distance himself from the food is not on.
There are many good pub/restaurants around this isnt one of them until they review their service completely or drop their price to pub food.
