We visited this hotel through a Groupon deal and we were pleasantly suprised. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food was amazing and the room was great.
If you are thinking of using this hotel, do not think twice, it is well worth the money!!

This was our third visit and second stay, with a Groupon deal (our second visit, for a meal, was by boat, which we moored opposite the hotel).

The Groupon deal was slightly worse this time with two courses each evening rathe than three, and no welcome drink, but still great value and two is enough really anyway. The main 'gripe' we had is that you were now expected to order from a reduced set menu rather than from the main menu or specials boards. My wife is vegetarian and I avoid meat, so we would have really only had one choice, and the same meal both nights of our two night stay. I asked if we could substitute, which we did, but the charge for doing this was confusing resulting in a unclear extra on our bill at checkout. I still don't know if the charge was for my wife swapping to a veggie burger or me having the crayfish off the blackboard. Still the food was good, service OK and drinks prices reasonable.

The duty manager seemed a bit stressed the first night, mainly as she was trying to serve at the bar as well as check people in and show them to their rooms, then serve in the restaurant. The guy running things the second night was far more 'in control' and kindly brought my wife's Irish coffee through to the lounge for us without a fuss.

We stayed on a Wednesday and Thursday night, with the hotel well under occupied. Our room, 12A, was nice and spacious with a great view of the river from the large window. It was quiet despite being over the main pub entrance. The bathroom was modern with a good shower, though a bath would have been nice (some rooms have a tub). The atroom walls showed some marks and stains which needed a good clean but nothing to be overly concerned about. The bed was rather springy and a bit too soft for my liking though acceptable. The room was very warm with good heating and a towel heater in the bathroom. Plenty of hot water, if a bit too hot at times. There was a trouser press though we didn't use it. Adequate tea and coffee supplies and plenty of channels on a LCD freeview TV.

Breakfasts were very good each morning with plenty of choice. They did omit my wife's poached egg first morning though soon put it right. I enjoyed the poached fish.

The owners have invested well in this inn in recent years and gradually done it up. Hopefully it will stay looking good, though some redecorating will soon be needed. We love the location of this place and setting by the river. It's down to earth with nice friendly staff and deserves to do well. Check out the garden centre next door and the pottery nearby. There's plenty to see and do.

Six months after our last stay we decided to have another night at the Wayford Bridge. We stayed in room 10 (double room) and again were not disappointed. The room was tastefully decorated with hairdrier, trouser press & tea/coffee. The room was spotless including the bathroom. The staff (again) were polite & helpful. We ate in the hotel & the meal was lovely & been both veggies we were happy with the meatfree choices, at breakfast on the Friday morning our little dog was even given a sausage (one very happy dog).
Only one minus was a uncomfy bed but I'm not going to bring the hotel down for that. In a nutshell we both enjoyed our stay even better than last september & seen as we love North Norfolk we would not hesitate to book the Wayford Bridge again. So if anyone is looking for a reasonably priced welcoming, spotless hotel then look no further.

Stayed on a Groupon offer which was excellent value.
Location = Good as a base for other areas such as Norwich and Coast but not much locally out of season.
Room= Ground floor room was very clean. Bed a bit on small side and not the best. Shower was comapct and squeezed into en suite.
Food= Fixed basic menu for the Groupon deal which did not change (scampi and chips etc) 2nd night choose to eat off the main menu which was far better. We were allowed a credit against the cost of this for not having Groupon menu.
Bar= Cosy with log fire and small lounge attached.
Breakfast= Cooked to order and was good, normally have Continental but this was not as good as the cooked.

Overall would visit again as staff friendly, polite and efficient, hotel generally very clean and pleasant.

We stayed for one night on a Groupon deal and was impressed by the friendly greeting of the manageress and other staff. The room was spacious with a lovely clean bathroom and carpet (some hotels we`ve been to the carpets have been pretty grim). We ate in the restaurant and the food was extremely tasty and the breakfast was very good, although we did have to wait a while as there was only one lady serving and she was rushed off her feet, due to most people coming down at the same time!! All in all a pleasant one night stay.

This is a great restaurant recently has had a change of manager, now a charming lady. No more ordering at the bar if you are eating in the restaurant, the atmosphere is great and the food is superb,we have eaten in there several times recently and there is always something new to try on the specials board, judging from other reviews the hotel is great too. Sorry have to put this on the hotel heading but you do not list it under restaurants.
