“Excellent stay in West Cork”
Reviewed July 3, 2009

I agree with the other posts that rate deBarra lodge at the top. My wife and I stayed in Rosscarbery to access some of the many neolithic and Iron Age sites in West Cork. Sinead and Dan were most helpful in mapping out where we wanted to go. The room and overall facility was great. For us, internet access is essential and was readily available. As vegetarians, we were well-catered to (although young Cian would have to wait for other guests to have sausages!)
Excellent value and would be happy to stay there in the future.

On an ex-tended weekend family break in Roscarberry we booked the De Barra Lodge because they could accomodate the 5 couples and 1 small child. This was the best decision in a weekend of fantastic activites. Sinead and Daniel are the epitome of warming and welcoming hosts where nothing is any trouble. The rooms are superb , easily 4* hotel standard with the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The breakfast included gourmet mueslies, poached fruit, full Irish and fresh ground coffee's and tea. All we can say is wow!!! I highly recommend this as a base for not only Roscarberry but the whole of west Cork.

We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing weekend at de Barra lodge. Sinead made us feel truly welcome. Our room was fresh and spotlessly clean. maybe it was the sea air, or the comfy mattress, but that was the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. Breakfast was delicious. I can definately recommend the homemade buttermilk pancakes, mmmmmm. My husband was delighted with the wi fi, heaven forbid we escape too far from the real world

DeBarra Lodge is a lovely newly built B&B located in peaceful surroundings just outside the village of Rosscarberry. The owner and hostess, Sinead Barry is a warm and friendly person who will make you feel very welcome in her home. She was very helpful and gave me some suggestions for dinner in Rosscarberry. My room was spacious, comfortable, very clean and had a view looking across the local countryside. Breakfast was very good and Sinead's homemade brown bread and scones are some of the best I've had in my travels through Ireland. I would highly recommend De Barra Lodge to anyone planning to visit West Cork.

We stayed after a wedding recently and enjoyed it so much we stayed another night.
The rooms are spotless and spacious. Guests have use of a sitting room which was great as there were a few of us so we were able to laze around and chat when we were all tired without sitting on beds.
Sinead was really helpful and reccommended local pubs and restaurants for our second night.
Breakfast was great. Homemade scones and compote. Fry's for those who wanted them.
Clean, good breakfast and really relaxed atmosphere. We'd definitely book it again.

Lovely B&B! Extremely spacious rooms and very well decorated. Very friendly host and hostess. Sitting room available for guests use and after we arrived back after dinner, the fire was lit for us. It was really like a home away from home as we sipped a bottle of wine in front of the fire.
Breakfast was included and was lovely. Home made scones with homemade jam. A full fry was also available.
