It was November, out of peak holiday season and was blowing a gale outside, but this restaurant must be doing something right, as it was very busy. Service was attentive and with friendly helpful waitering staff. Good veggie paella available and very tasty too... only error was putting anchovies on an endive with blue cheese salsa, as it was one of the few veggie options available. On a positive note to end a classic bottle of "Kripta" (cava) was an option at shop prices rather than a restaurant over rated price.

Great paella, mariscos, not very cheap, but great value considering what you get, food is simply excellent. One of the best paellas we got in Spain so far. You can tell the owners actually put some soul into it: we were mostly done and the lady owner came to us and said 'Queda un poquito' pointing to some very little that was left in the paellera :)
Attentive staff, really eager to please.

We had walked along the paths observing the birds and landscape and came upon this restaurant, at the side of the river Ebro.

What a lovely surprise. We decided on a late lunch and it was absolutely delicious. We had the paella with seafood, beautifully cooked and loaded with an excellent selection of fish. The wine was good and the desserts superb. We were not rushed, and found the service to be first class and the staff helpful and pleasant.

This restaurant comes highly recommended.

Casa Nuri is in fact in Riumar, 12km east of Deltebre. It is on the banks of the Ebro near to the river mouth, and may be of interest to bird watchers in particular. My wife and I went there for dinner.

For starters I had the prawns in chili-garlic ('gambas al ajillo) and that was excellent. My wife's fish soup was rather bland. Then we were convinced by the waiter to splash out on the wild sea-bream and sea-bass; one done in the oven and the other in a salt crust. He filleted them at the table. The crust seems not have been dampened properly before baking because it was crumbly (instead of rock hard and breaking into large pieces) which meant that salt grains impermeated the fish. This was made worse because the waiter was inept at properly filleting the fish, so we were continuously extracting bones from the plate and our mouths.

I would suggest that you stick to the recommendations of other posters .... have the less exotic offerings like the paella, but by all means try the 'gambas al ajillo'.
