When our Surrey walkers were deciding where to hold their 2013 Social evening they opted for The Carpenters Arms. We had a great evening then. The food and service was all excellent, as indeed it was for lunch after this recent U3A group walk.
Being on the edge of so much great walking country with the High Chart and the Greensand Way literally on the doorstep, we head to Limpsfield Chart quite often, and have done for at least 10 years or more.
This is a favourite pub as a base, most especially under the present regime in the small group of houses owned by Westerham Brewery.
One of our particular tests when assessing a pub as a base for eating or socialising is the Espresso Coffee. Here we were not disappointed (unlike some 4 years ago when it seemed just like an instant served in an espresso cup :( ~ that was old regime and not so particular)
Now then, their coffee is one of the special reasons to stop by and chat after an event.
And that is without even thinking about the various Westerham beers ...
No hesitation in recommending this venue. Back soon!

Today 15 0f us (pre booked) eat lunch time at the Carpenters arms, we all had various foods & combinations everything was superb, good quality ingredients, nicely cooked, 1 guy was Gluten intolerant & it was no problem, dealt with very efficiently, the service was good & efficient & the prices were reasonable, we all paid individually which was not a problem & all plates were clear at the end of each course, no food left on the side, every body was very happy & satisfied, & we will be returning.

Just had a family lunch here today. The food was excellent with enough choice for our varied tastes.We were made most welcome and will definitely visit again when we are in the area. Oh, and don't forget the lovely local beers and the friendly, relaxing atmosphere!

Have been a few times now with SHMBO and have to say we have always enjoyed our visits.
Food is always good and i think their prices are sensible unlike a nearby pub whose name i wont mention. On todays visit for Sunday lunch the pub was full,but we still received prompt service.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area

Lovely evening at the revamped Carpenters Arms. Friendly atmosphere in stylish but comfortable décor. Excellent pub food with Jon Ashby's 28 day hung Rib-Eye steak cooked to perfection!
Will definitely go back.
