We first visited the GK over 10 years ago & were incredibly impressed both with the service & especially the quality of the food. Nepalese food is much more subtle than Indian cuisine and uses many interesting & sometimes quite delicate spices. We ate there again on Wednesday (27th) and again were thrilled at how they have managed to maintain their standards. We have never had a bad experience. I am disabled, but can walk a short distance, but had planned to use my scooter. We rang to see if they were happy with this and they were most accommodating and helpful.
We went with two other friends and, although we chose our own specific dishes, we shared our dishes around and thoroughly enjoyed every dish. We cheated this time and ordered their ‘mixed’ vegetables rather than ordering numerous individual vegetable dishes.
For the main dishes we chose the Rara Chicken, Mayalu Lamb, Ra See and the Janaki Prawn. One much appreciated guide, is that that every dish has an indicator against it depicting whether it is Medium or Hot.
This is a really excellent restaurant that has continued its standards, perhaps even bettering them over many years. Being that my Mother lives in Oxted, means we have a great opportunity to eat there when we visit.
Highly recommended for a most enjoyable evening with gracious hosts. You should book though, it gets busy.
They also offer takeaways, if you really can't find the time, but my advice is to meet some friends there and enjoy the food, atmosphere and ambiance.
