We stumbled across The Sun Inn on a trip from Shropshire to Brecon celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were so impressed with the quality of the food, our lunch was every bit as good as a high class restaurant. The owners were friendly and the service quick.
We would certainly visit again, next time for dinner !!

One of our party of 3 found her steak tough. She did not complain but left it on her plate. The publican collected her plate after asking what the problem was and expressing astonishment. Two minutes later he came back; not only he but his wife and the chef had tried it and found it fine! Clearly there was something wrong with his guests. When I interrupted to ask him to close the conversation he said "When someone complains about the steak, I have to defend it"! We got rid of him with great difficulty, having thad the attention of the restaurant on us! My friend was very upset by the incident. We shall none of us go there again.

We visited this pub for a meal after we had been to the Hay Festival. The food was excellent and the owners were extremely welcoming. It is incredibly good value for such high quality food, less than £33 each for 3 courses, coffee and 2 drinks each.

We recently went to the Sun Inn for lunch and an evening meal. The menu is extensive, and locally sourced ingredients are used on nearly every dish. Some stand out dishes: Steak (cooked to perfection, with a beautiful mushroom and brandy sauce); and the Strawberry Pavlova (freshly prepared, it was heaven on a plate - while it lasted that is - very good dessert!). Richard and Gail are very accomodating of all your needs, nothing is too much trouble.

We very much look forward to returning, when next in the UK.
