I have come to this area often in the last twelve years and finally had a chance to visit this place. Made note of the accommodations for future visits and had a great meal...a friendly welcome and a deliciously prepared fresh tuna steak hit the spot. Walking distance to Playa Junquillal for incredible sunsets and excellent proximity to Playas Negra and Avellanas for surfing.

We had to find a place to stay for one night between our time in Samara and Playa Potrero, and Junquillal was on the way, so we ended up at Mundo Milo. Having been there only one night, I can say we definitely would have planned a longer visit if we had known then what we know now.

We stayed in a Mexican-style cabin, with air conditioning and two double beds. It had an "upgraded" bath - very nicely done - but the water pressure was a bit low. It was nice to have a small fridge, and a porch with chairs and a hammock.

The property is in a beautiful setting. It's a short drive or walk to beach. Michael and Lieke were immensely helpful, sharing their advice and experiences. They provided us with larger towels for our trips to the beach.

Mundo Milo is close to the turtle conservation office/tour center - a definite highlight. We were able to take part in a release of hatchlings at sunset ... what a thrill to see them making their way down to the surf to begin their (we hope) long lives. Then at night we went on an expedition with a guide (and only one other couple) and were lucky to see a leatherback turtle laying over one hundred eggs. Definitely a highlight of our 17 days in country.

Breakfast was great. Can't say enough about the helpful "staff" (owners). Laid-back atmosphere. Would gladly return for a longer stay.

Mundo Milo is the perfect place to experience Costa Rica at its best! The owners Michiel and Lieke made us feel welcome and we were able to relax and enjoy the beauty of Junquillal. The price of our stay was more than reasonable and the food at the restaurant was excellent. Our cabin was absolutely wonderful-and one could wake up to the many different sounds of the jungle. We were able to do many of the adventurous things that we wanted to do during the day, or just relax by the beautiful pool, and enjoy the wonderful food and the friendliness of our hosts and many natives who came to the restaurant to visit at night. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning.

We had an amazing time with Lieke and Michiel, with delicious food (we recommend the panqueques), lovely cabins and hospitality that made us really felt at home. They know how to give personal attention to all guests according to their needs. The prices of the food and stay are more than reasonable and the location an excellent place to relax or explore other beaches such as Playa Blanca, Avellanas and San Juanillo that are all close by. Junquillal is a lovely quiet place, where you can chill, walk and spot all sort of animals, including pizza and pasta, the two housecats. All in all, a great place to be for a couple of days or longer.

I stayed several days in the africa lodge and enjoyed every moment. The Mundo Milo is a great place to relax, enjoy and feel like home. All cabinas are beautiful furnished with own terass and you can relax in the pool by watching the monkeys in the trees. The owners Lieke and Michiel give you the feeling of being home and they have good advice for nice trips. The food is very good especially the Sushi night on Tuesday evening. It is a quite place and you feel like living in the nature. For me the best place to stay in Junquillal.
