“Great Service...Decent Snorkeling”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

My family of 5 took a snorkeling tour to San Juanillo with Paski's. They picked us up at our hotel in a pick-up truck, and we rode in the back along winding dirt roads to San Juanillo. My kids had a blast on the drive.

San Juanillo is a nice beach, and we were the only ones on the snorkeling trip. We had two guides in the water with us, helping us find unique things such as a sand skate, pufferfish, giant hermit crab and conch. The service was personal and excellent.

Unfortunately, the snorkeling itself was just kind of mediocre. There were some nice colorful fish, but not in great abundance. And the water was a little rough and a bit murky, so the underwater colors didn't pop.

I knew that Pacific snorkeling wouldn't rival Caribbean, but my family really enjoys snorkeling so we thought we'd give it a try. Paski's did the best they could to maximize the experience, but next time I would probably try their other tours.

“best way to end a honeymoon!”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

To finish off our honeymoon we decided to go swimming with the turtles. You actually get to swim with them, not just look at them in the water! Captain Mike was so knowledgeable about the ocean and El Capitan Jose was great with the turtles and helping you hold and swim with them. We got to see a pair mating as well as lots of them swimming in the ocean. They have great eyes too as we got to see dolphins and a whale! They also brought along drinks, snacks and snorkel gear to use. It was an amazing experience, and Captain Mike got some great pictures for us to remember it by!

“An ocean experience of a lifetime”
Reviewed September 9, 2013 via mobile

Nothing like the famous three hr tour of Gilligan's Island. This was truly an awe inspiring experience. We quickly located many Ridley Turtles sunning themselves in the ocean..the mate dove over and brought a female turtle to the boat. At which time we all got into the water to gently handle this most beautiful creature, by the way..she seemed
nonplussed by the attention, in fact she really seemed to be enjoying it. We then proceeded to cruise the deep blue waters of off San Juanillo and Ostional. We saw a magnificent sailfish jump through a school of bait fish..we had a brief whale sighting and continued to view many turtles. Capt. Mike was a great host..plenty of food and drink on board. Mike also gave us a great lecture on the Olive Ridley Turtles habits. All in all , well worth the ride down to this location.

“Swim with the Turtles!”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

We visited Ostional during turtle nesting season in the hopes of seeing and learning more about these magnificent creatures. On the recommendation of our host at Hotel Luna Azul, we went on the Swim with the Turtles tour with Captain Mike out of Playa San Juanillo. Capt Mike and his crew were professional and Capt Mike is fun. We saw quite a few turtles, even a few mating pairs, but the best part was getting in the water to snorkel with them, and then getting to hold one and experience her up close and personal in a way that is not stressful to the turtle. They show you how to hold the turtle up close against your chest and breath in a way that comforts the turtle. I was also told how to change my grip so that the turtle could dive down, and she had no problem diving and pulling me with her until I was ready to let go. Powerful! We also got to see a mother humpback whale and baby up close. My husband walks with 2 canes and we didn't know if he could get on the boat, but Capt Mike and crew found a safe way to help him get on board so that he could enjoy the experience, too. One of the guests on the boat felt seasick due to the wave action, so you might want to take something right before you board the boat if you have that tendency. I will definitely book a fishing or scuba tour with this company next time we visit. They were fun, helpful and put out a good effort to allow us to experience the wonders of nature on the sea.
