This is one of the rare occasions that the comments on trip advisor actually represent reality. I would have never found this place on my own. Thank you trip advisor. Really great place to eat.

Like one of your other contributors we were welcomed in a pressurised into choosing what the owner recommended. We had a very ordinary meal, well below Greek average and the most expensive we have had in perhaps ten vists to Greece and the Greek islands. Not recommended

As a Greek I have very high standards and expectations when it comes to fish. Due to the crisis (and especially in tourist destinations) many restaurateurs try to minimise their losses through buying and selling either frozen or farmed fish. Trust me, the difference in taste and nutrition between farmed fish and freshly-caught is huge. Marinero’s policy is Fresh, Fresh, Fresh! It’s been a long time since I enjoyed such delicious, prepared with so much love and care, fish dishes. Try the prawn pasta, the farfalle with smoked salmon, the juicy cod that melts in your mouth or even better the mouth-watering tsipoura (gilthead bream). There is always a good selection of meat dishes and salads ‘to die for’ with the most outstanding dressings, all prepared by a young Chef (the owner’s son) with a huge love for fine food. The service is outstanding, the owners treat everyone like royalty and give good advice on the specials. The prices are reasonable and in fact somewhat lower than some other places in Tolon (at the front of the beach) that dish out plastic, frozen concoctions. Make sure you go hungry because the portions are a good size. Don’t worry about parking either, Marinero’s has its own, huge lit parking area… Overall we were delighted to have found this gem amongst a lot of very average eateries. A MUST try A+.

we have been coming to Tolo for a few years now and this restaurant is the best in the area, the staff and owners always friendly with helpful, the food regardless to what you try from steaks, pasta or seafood is first class and reasonably priced. Anyone looking for a greek holiday Tolo is a must and so is this restaurant along with the short car journey to Nafplio which also is a superb place to visit.

When we arrived the owner was friendly and sat to our table to give his advices to his new "friends". But this was a pure marketing strategy to load our order as much as possible (he used exactly the same tactics with next foreign customers). It is not unsual in a restaurant, but there I really felt abused when the check arrived.

For a simple dinner with usual greek seafood (calamar..) we had to pay 70 euros for 2. Basically the owner succeeded in selling 2 main courses for one person presenting them as a unique course. And the food was decent, but not exceptionnal (more burnt than grilled).

So avoid this restaurant, and to eat better seafood for half the price you can go to a little family taverna located nearly at the end of Tolo main street (the name is in greek only, about 50 meters after pegasus cruises, and before the little supermarket). We went there 3 times and were never disappointed, with a truly friendly owner.
