We were referred here by a local and had our best meal in 2 weeks in Croatia. We’ve not spared expense chasing good food and no restaurant we hit exceeded Aterina. Beyond that prices were more than fair. The fig and cheese bruschetta was wonderful. Had an outstanding bottle of local Prosip wine. My wife had a swordfish steak that was simply prepared but the quality was so good no complicated sauce needed. She was raving how good it was. I had Drunken Octopus and it was off the charts good. I’m normally reluctant to do octopus as hit or miss but this was spot on. Tender enough to cut with a fork. Had polenta with cuttlefish ink and some other forgotten grain in a gravy that was amazing. Desert was an unexpected good basil cheesecake and I had an equally good Amaretto cake. Thrown in on the deal was a wonderful, personable waitress that was genuinely friendly. She explained the owner was the chef... the love of cooking was obvious. In all a fantastic experience and highly recommended
