“Great home-made food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

Situated near the sea and beneath one of the old town towers, the location is perfect.
You can choose between the outside seating (closed to the sea) or a roofed patio (there might be more seats inside, but it was a bit dark so I couldn't be sure).

When we decided to take a seat it was raining so we decided on the roofed patio, which had windows as a protection from the wind and rain.

The furniture is a simple wooden bench and a table, but comfortable. The waitress was friendly and un-intrusive, giving us plenty of time to study the menu and answering all our questions.

Menu in several different languages is a nice touch, with aperitifs, cold and hot starters, salads, vegetarian and kids option, coffee and cakes. Vegetarian offer could be a bit better, though.

There is a lot of seafood on the menu which is to be expected, Korcula being an island with rich sealife and most of the traditional and local cuisine revolving around seafood.

But as a vegetarian I didn't have that much choice, it was either mixed grilled vegetables or 'macarons' with a tomato sauce. I went with macarons with the tomato sauce and my goodness, I never tried such tasty pasta before!! Freshly and home-made, the flavour is totally different from anything you buy at the supermarket. Regarding the tomato sauce, I generally prefer more herbs in it, but I can't complain, it was tasty!

My mother went with prawns 'the Korcula way' and loved it (the translation in the menu is not good - it says 'shrimps'). The portions are generous and served simply, no 'frills'.

The seasonal salad (cucumber, tomatoes and cabbage) wasn't as good as I hoped, it didn't taste very fresh, but it was ok.

Macaruni cost 55kn, salad 20kn and the shrimps were 80kn, plus 0.3 jug of white house wine and a coffee, the total came to cca 200kn (not even 30 euros).

The atmosphere and decoration could use some working on, like background music, adding some small details on the tables etc.

“Great fish, great location and view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013 via mobile

I had the fresh fish of the day, which they did as a mixture of two types. Delicious, and came on a bed of mash mixed with chard. The view is great, at the tip of the old town.

“Beautiful sea view, good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the seaside and I strongly recommend the mussels in white sauce - they were delicious! The olives were also great, the house wine quite average, and the chicken was very well done too - overall worth a visit!
