We've stayed for one night and are about to spend our second night here too. We've been fortunate enough to be given one of the rooms with a terrace, with a view that is truly spectacular.

It's a very short stroll (3-5mins) to the heart of Korcula town, and the balcony overlooks the bay, the town and the mainland.

While the rooms aren't five star or even close to being a posh hotel suite, we think they're perfect for what we were after. The price is great for the location, spaciousness and cleanliness, and we are really pleased we chose to stay here. Yes, the bedding is mis-matched and the furniture a bit dated, but that's typical of B&Bs/private rooms across the region.

Rezi has been a great host, picking us up from the bus station when we arrived from Dubrovnik and recommending a fabulous restaurant (Konoba Maslina), where we had lunch today. We had such a great feed, with a bill that came to only 190kn (about 25 pounds in total). We had goats cheese and marinated peppers, followed by homemade pasta with beef ragu, creme caramel for dessert, and a carafe of wine. It's about 2.5km from the apartment, but it was thoroughly worth the half hour or so walk. For the prices and quality of the food, I'd say it would be worth catching a taxi if you're not keen on walking.

Overall, we're so happy we chose to come to Korcula (we almost didn't) - it's gorgeous and we actually prefer it to Dubrovnik. It really is pretty, and staying at Apartments Depolo has meant we've been able to make the most of our stay in this great town on a wonderful island.

Room and bathroom were spacious. Rezi even offered us extra towels at the beginning of our three day stay. She knows Americans like to have clean towels frequently.
Rezi was very friendly and willing to provide any information, not intrusive but there to help. Nice touch to be able to use frig and had tea on hand. Hot water pot was handy for making your own coffee or tea.
Our end room had a huge terrace, with a free wifi working sporadically. We were able to enjoy the stay on the rainy days. Yes, be prepared for some days of inclement weather when you are not able to sightsee without getting drenched. Rezi recommendation for Maslina restaurant was good, although it is not as close as she described, definitely not a walking distance. We rented a scooter for half a day and dropped by on the way back from touring the island. Half a day on a scooter was more than enough, OUCH! :)
It was the beginning of the season, a little bit of spring cleaning was laxed, lots of dust on lamps and fixtures, sheets were of multi color and I was not sure they were clean from the previous guests. Views on the ocean, sunrise and sunset are spectacular. Close to the catamaran that took us to another island and walk out the doors, you can step on 20 ft of rocks into the ocean. A bit noisy if travelers in other rooms are not considered. Thank you Rezi, we enjoyed our stay.

My husband booked a room here 2 1/2 months in advance. He told me he reserved the room with a lovely terrace where we coulod sit out and savor the fabulous view while having cocktails. I couldn't wait. When we got here Ms. Depolo took us to a room with a double bed and a single bed that was unmade with the bare mattress showing and no terrace. I said to my husban, "isn't this the place you told me had a terrace?" He said yes and we double checked the emails back and forth. Sure enough, she emailed back and i quote inclluding the exclamation point, "I booked the room with the terrace for you!" My husband went to talk to her about the mistake and she told him that later on a couple called to reserve a room for 2 nights (we only needed one night) and they wanted the terrace so she gave it to them!!!!!! Unbelievable. So what if someone called and wanted a room (there are only 3) for a week? I guess when we showed up she'd just tell us tough luck - you don't have a room. At the very minimum, she should have emailed and told us so we could have made other arrangements if we wanted to, not to mention that it was a complete breach of contract. The price and location is certainly attractive, but if you book the room with the terrace, you better make damn sure you will not accept any substitutions.

When we arrived by boat, Tereza, the owner of Villa Depolo was kind enough to walk down to the harbour to meet us. The apartments are only 5 mins walk from both the harbour and the old town.

The rooms were spotless and we had an amazing view taking in the sea, the mountains and the old town. They have air conditioning, satellite TV and overall are excellent value for money.

My husband and I stayed at the Villa Depolo for 2 nights in September 2009. The room faced the ocean (literally just across the street from a tiny beach) and also had wonderful views back onto the old town peninsula of Korcula. It was spacious and clean, with two big windows and a modern private bathroom. The room also contained a dining table and chairs, tea making facilities and access to a common fridge – which enabled us to save money by making our own breakfast and lunch. Rezi (the proprietor) spoke wonderful English and seemed very willing to help, but wasn’t intrusive, allowing us the hotel-like privacy we desired.

Villa Depolo was just brilliant. We couldn't fault it in anyway. We were met by Rezi, who is fantastic, as we got off the boat, had a chat for the short walk to the accommodation & then given a lovely introduction to our rooms with explanations on how to work the window blinds, aircon & tv etc.
The location is amazing. <100m and you are in centre town, but the view from the balcony of korcula is just stunning (see photos!). The room is air conditioned, huge, and very clean & comfortable. The beds are comfortable & the bathroom is clean & pretty modern. It was very quiet at night & we slept soundly.
Really can't fault it, excellent value for money. On the day we left they happily stored our bags for us until the afternoon.
One bit of advice though - if you are departing Korcula on a Sunday in peak season book the 3:45pm bus well in advance (or the early mornign ferry) - we turned up as soon as the ticket office opened on the sunday only to be told the bus was fully booked for the day. The only way we coudl get to Dubrovnik was a 120 euro private car (which we took) or wait till the next day. It was the only time we had this problem, and obviously being a sunday in peak season was the main issue!

We had a great time in Korcula. What a lovely place it is. We were so sad to leave after only two nights. It is gorgeous! Very chilled out.

Tereza's rooms are about 10 metres away from a tiny sandy beach and about 5 minutes walk from the old town. The rooms are spotless, the views are great, or you get a terrace which is just as good. Tereza was very helpful. She met us off the ferry and was really friendly. The only thing I'd say is that she obviously runs quite an efficient operation there. So if checkout is at 11am you'll be expected to be out at that time.

Overall, superb. Friendly, and a faultless location. Make sure in your Croatia trip you allow plenty of time to really kick back and chill out in Korcula.

By the way we discovered a couple of great places to eat there as well. For breakfast head to Kolenda, on Ugostieljski obrt. For dinner we had an awesome meal just inside the old town gate on the right down a little lane at a place called Konoba Komin, Ugostitelski Obrt Marijana. The waiter was quite a character!
