We stayed here at the end of March 2017. The lodge was very clean with excellent fixtures, fittings and furniture. The view of Skiddaw is amazing and the park itself is tranquil. The dogs enjoyed themselves in the specific walking area. Would return again and highly recommend.

Booked maple tree lodge very very last minute .booking through Mark I the office (very helpful) . On arrival the lovely girl in the shop gave us our keys and directions to the lodge and a dog welcome basket with food bowls ,blanket, towel ,poop bags and even a lovely treat . Also a lovely card that told us where we could eat out with the dog . What a lovely touch. The site is very clean and tidy (even the window cleaners came round )with a big field for dog walking . So glad we decided on skiddaw view for our last minute break . Will defiantly be back again soon . Just what me and my husband needed a well earned peacefull few days away (and loads of walks for the dog)
The only down side I could see was no wifi avaliable in the accomadation only available at the shop and information room . But that is only a minor detail. The girl in the shop was very very friendly .

“Excellent once again”
Reviewed June 23, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This is the second time we have stayed in this lodge. It's probably one of the best locations in the park, up high on the hillside, and very close to the dog walking area. The cleaners do a grand job keeping it spick and span considering it is pet friendly, so well done to them! The views from the deck are fantastic, but sadly the weather meant we couldn't make the best of it this year. The dog walking area is great, and allows the dogs to have a good run and explore in the long grass - beware though - one of ours picked up a tick somewhere in there, so might be an idea to check your furry friends afterwards if they've been in the grass. Apologies to any of the other guests who may have been upset by our sometimes over-exuberant doggies. Will definately be visiting again.

Stayed at maple tree lodge after a last minute decision to get away for the weekend .so pleased we did .lodge is set at the very top of the park which gives great views of skiddaw mountain .site is just a nice size and the lodges are spaced well apart . The lodge was spotless on arrival and the owners had left a welcome pack for our dog which was a nice touch .the park had a excellent dog walking field which we thought was a great idea and kept you from walking the dog around the park and thus not bothering other people who might not be dog lovers . Lodge has a lovely kitchen and diner which is open plan . All you can think of needing was supplied . Two good bedrooms one with en suite plus a full size bathroom is there as well . Lodge is double glazed and has central heating so was nice and toasty even in February . Site is well placed for visiting other areas such as the beach at St bees etc . Put simply we can not wait to return which we will definitely do .

“Fantastic place to stay.”
Reviewed December 14, 2014 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed in two lodges on the Skiddaw View site. Originally from this area, we met up with old school friends and had a fantastic time. The lodges were superb. We stayed in Maple Tree Lodge and it was modern, clean, warm and well equipped. There was even a small Christmas Tree placed in the living room, which gave the place a real Christmas feel. The views across to Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw were incredible. The staff members were friendly and helpful. Minor issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Although somewhat biased, having been born and bred in Uldale and the surrounding area, we must recommend the North Lakes. Very few people have even heard of Overwater. The old village school in Uldale is now a delightful craft centre and coffee shop. Bassenthwaite and Keswick are only a few miles away. We will definitely recommend this holiday site to family and friends. We have posted some amazing photographs on Facebook for them all to see.

“Beautiful Views from peaceful Lodge”

Excellent service received. Check in on arrival was quick and hassle free. Keys were provided with map and easy to follow directions from a polite staff member.

Lodge was as advertised and had everything that we needed. Washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, scourer, bin liners, dish towels and toilet roll was provided. The Dishwasher & washing machine was a bonus for us. The lodge was tidy and clean - there are a few cobwebs, cracks & marks on the interior walls which did not bother us but could be attended to. The views towards Skiddaw from the lodge were amazing come rain or shine. Opening the blinds to this view every morning was a real highlight!

We travelled with our pet dog. Maple Tree Lodge is right next to the access to the Dog Walking area which our dog absolutely loved! The dog walking area has a mowed path within longer grass which our dog enjoyed running through. This area also had beautiful views towards the Northern Fells but also Scotland in the distance (which was stunning to look towards as the sunset). The nearby Dodd Woods was also an excellent spot to walk with the dog and the Osprey Viewpoints within the woods also provide stunning views. We walked our dog here in the early evening and did not see another sole. However it looked to be busy during the day. A real nice touch was the dog basket provided in the lodge which had a towel, blanket, dog bowl, a treat and some 'poo bags'.

The holiday park is in a remote location but the towns of Cockermouth and Keswick are nearby to stock up. There is a Sainsbury's and Aldi in Cockermouth. One thing that surprised us was the number of dog friendly shops and pubs within Keswick. The holiday park is well maintained and tidy.

We had a wonderful stay and we are looking to book again for next year.
