“A fantastic place to stay to explore the surrounding area”
Reviewed August 27, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Dobby lodge is ideally located to explore the western Lake District. We spent a week there and my boys didn't want to return home. The lodge was immaculate and the park facilities were excellent. Especially enjoyed the welcome from the alpaca who the boys named "Al" I would recommend Dobby lodge and we hope to return very soon.

Arrived early and Val let us put our milk, beer, butter etc in the fridge. We went into Cockermouth (sainsburys ) and when we got back the Dobby Lodge 2 was ready to move in. The rooms are spacious and clean. Nice big LG HD tv on the wall. The location is remote. The park is well presented and organised, with recycling bins nr the entrance. Each footprint has its own parking and when we were there the weather was lovely for the week. The local pub The Greyhound was going through an ownership change and wasn't doing food. This is a good 15/20mins walk from the park and will be a good pub when things get done and up n running. Wigton, Cockermouth are 10mins by car. Keswick about 15mins. We wanted a relaxing, chilled out week and that's what we got. The park is very child friendly. It is completely surrounded by beautiful views and walks. we had a great holiday and would tell anyone to book up, but as ive said we did get the sun- when it rained it came down well but that was at night so we were lucky.Thanks.

“A little piece of heaven”
Reviewed July 20, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Had a fantastic stay in Skiddaw Holiday Park. The dobby lodge was lovely, very clean, well designed and had everything you could possible need for your stay. Really appreciated the cleaning products, toliet rolls and t-towels, just like a hotel!!! The site itself is in a beautiful area and it was one of our most peaceful restful holidays ever. Would definately stay here again.

“Skiddaw View Holiday Park”

Had a lovely week away with the hubby to Skiddaw View Holiday Park recently. We stayed in one of the Dobby Lodges which were very nice and had everything that you could need for a relaxing week away. The park is abit of the beaten track so once we were out for the day we were out for the whole day but it did make it lovely and peaceful none the less when we were back in the lodge. There was some stunning views from some parts of the park, overlooking the hills etc but unfortunalety the Dobby Lodge didn't have this which was abit dissappointing. Overall a lovely place to get away and unwind for a few days.

Liked best: The quirkiness of the lodge itself.
Liked least: Abit of the beaten track and further out from the nearest town than we had thought. Also the postioning of the lodge could have been better as we were facing right into someone's caravan.

“Great little modern lodge that has everything you need”

Booking process was easy and as we didn't arrive till late a phone call was all it took to arrange a hassle free check in. Lodge was as described on the website, very modern with everything that you needed for a week away. We stayed in Dobby 1 and wasn't sure if they'd had a leak at some point as the wooden floor in the bedroom was raised and not comfortable to walk on. The beds were comfortable and we slept well every night. As the weather was nice the lodge was very warm at night but there was also heating for when the mornings were cool. We would definitely use this lodge again. The only downside is the location there really isn't a lot else around this site.

Liked least: This lodge was one of the furthest from the kids play area and there was no other open space closer to the lodge for them to play
