We have regularly visited the Sun Inn and have had the pleasure to meet new owners Lisa and Paul, who made us most welcome.
With four dogs in tow we celebrated a graduation in the restaurant and with the table beautifully decorated we each received lovely meals. The family vegetarian received a special dish prepared by Lisa, a vegetarian herself. Others chose from the menu and chef special board and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Staff were friendly and attentive, making sure our special occasion went well.
Lisa has introduced sweet jars to keep the kids happy and bonio jars for the canine family members.
All in all we have had a lovely week and with the Sun Inn now opening at 12 md to cater for thirsty walkers its a great place to visit.
Give it a try, you won't regret it.

We have stayed locally for a holiday and have become quite familiar with the Sun Inn.We were in there most nights either for a drink or dinner. The new owners are lovely very welcoming and eager to please. Very friendly and effcient staff, great beer at resonable prices. Dog owners will find thier pooches looked after and children are now welcome. Beautiful setting and homecooked meals. Huge portions! I would recommend this to anyone visiting the Lakes and look forward to returing soon.

This my first time in the pub and it definatley wont be the last. I spent every night in there mixing with the locals and trying excellent food and drinks. The owners have definatley turned this pub around. This wasnt just my own opinion but the opinion of many other locals and visiters that come often. According to a recent post on the 13th of july, the garlic mushrooms had no garlic and werent cooked. This was definatley not the case as i also had the same thing and they were cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef whos curry was also amazing!! I have already booked a hotel near by for next year and no doubt i will be in the pub every night again. After 1 night in this pub the bar staff knew what i was drinking which is always nice. It a shame that some people dont appriciate good food and a great atmosphere but those are the people that dont compensate towards the good atmosphere anyway. Cant wait for myself and family to visit again. Beautiful location, great people and great food. What more do you want!!

Having heard the pub was under new management, we were looking forward to visiting
the Sun Inn once again having not been for a long time. The setting is ideal and the weather was perfect so we chose to sit outside. It seemed popular but not overly busy, certainly not too busy for a 'chef' to struggle with a meal or two. Were we wrong.
I advise anyone visiting to not bother sampling the menu. Atleast not until they get a new chef. Wouldn't have felt so hard done by had the prices of the food reflected what we were given... it's not cheap. A lot had clearly been microwaved, and was tasteless, burnt, with no flavour. Don't get me wrong, good sized portions. But no one wants to eat a lot of bad food.
So much potential and such a shame.

Food was shocking, starter of garlic mushrooms uncooked with no garlic the dish, when main of gammon can had to walk away and go home to cook my own food. Over priced, small portions of inedible food in a pub with no atmosphere. Shame as the new owners could of made it so much better. Will not now return to my own village pub until there is a vast improvement
