“Great sandwiches on perfect bread”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2014 via mobile

To start off, we've been here 5 times in 7 days so far... We still have a couple days to go and will be back again. Although the first thing you notice is all the wonderful pastries, don't overlook their sandwich menu. Breakfast any time you want it. Delectable, well stacked multi-meat sandwiches. Try the Tripelata! Try the Rico Pan. Don't forget the Cubano. Actually, try them all. Each is $6.00 and large. Unless you're very hungry, you might want to share. All the meats are high quality and the coffee (more like a latte here and most places in PR) is top notch. Get yourself a pastry too. Many are coconut based and also have guava jelly.

Like a lot of places in Rio Grande, the exterior is not attractive. Just ignore that, go inside and you'll become a regular like we did.

The bakery does have a ledge and chairs near the front window if you want to eat there. It looks like they're also just days away from completing their renovation to the dining room next door. That room was closed during our visits. BTW, for what it's worth, we always see locals coming in for bread at all times of the day. FYI, some of the staff speak English but not everyone.

“Great sandwiches ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

We came on the recommendations of other reviewers and were very pleased with the quality of the food. Very good and large Cuban and Media Noche sandwiches. We could have split one between the two of us but really wanted to try both. The staff was very kind and helpful. Great option for take out or a quick lunch.

“Best Cubano Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

This place makes some of the best sandwiches I have had in 29 years of travelling to Puerto Rico. And the price is right too. The cuban sandwich I had is, by far, the best I 've ever had. Those in our group that had the media noches said the same thing. The sandwiches are big, so unless you are hungry or a pretty big eater, the sandwiches can be shared.

It's on RT 3 between the Amigo supermarket and the turn for the Rio Mar. Find it, seek it out.
