“Lives up to its reputation”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Based on tripadvisor reviews, we had dinner at this Restaurant which is located in the sprawling complex at the Gran Melia Resort. The hotel grounds are quite expansive and it's a fairly long walk from the parking area to the Restaurant itself. Although the Hotel is well known, it appeared dated and in need of some refurbishing. Although this is supposedly the height of the season, there were few people walking around and only a handful in the Restaurant, Pasion. The restaurant itself is not pretty, and has little ambiance. However, the food more than makes up for it. The mofongo served is as good as we ever had. The churasco was beautifully seasoned and grilled as was the seafood. The service was attentive (I guess they had to be since there were less than 10 people in the restaurant when we went there). If you don't mind this average ambiance, then this is the place to get a terrific meal. Prices are moderate.

You might have to look for the lobster soup on the final page of the menu but be sure to look hard because it is served in a unique wooden bowl and just terrific...cheers

Ate here 3 times while staying at the resort even though we had a car. Great place to try something new. Good service too.

“Great Food at Affordable Price”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

I loved their white rice with red beans and grilled chicken breast. It was exquisite. Side order? Delicious 'maduros' (fried bananas). Kudos to the chef and the staff.
