“Beautiful Spot in the Rain Forest”
Reviewed June 8, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This is a lovely place to stay. The grounds alone make the visit enjoyable. The accommodations are first rate and the land lord is available and most helpful. You will not be sorry you choose to spend your vacation in this wooded paradise.

“Great family vacation spot in the rain forest”
Reviewed April 14, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Our family of 6 (my husband and I, our two teenage sons, and my parents) spent one week in Puerto Rico, and Coquis Hideaway was a perfect base for us. The rental process and flow of information was great; Ray was very helpful via email when I was planning our trip. The accommodations were just right for our family. The welcome basket with fruit from the grounds, the much written about banana bread courtesy of Gwen, and the makings for a perfect Pina Colada were much appreciated.

We rented the entire house, 3 bedroom / 3 bath. The house is well equipped with everything you need for a fantastic vacation. The kitchen was stocked with basic condiments, coffee, and such. Definitely check what is there before you head to Ralph's grocery store to stock up for your stay. The kitchen has everything you need to cook basic meals. We ate breakfast every morning on the veranda, and cooked dinner at home 3 or 4 nights (we picked up fresh fish in Fajardo after a snorkeling trip with the SS Tobias ). There is also a large supply of DVDs, books and magazines available for your use. Pretty much anything you need for a trip to the pool or beach (cooler, boogie boards, towels, blankets, beach bags, etc.) is also available for your use.

The pool and grounds are wonderful Although small, the pool it is perfect because it is all yours. The only kids splashing you or fighting over the hammock will be your own! The pool area has a grill, fridge, bathroom with shower, and stunning views. Every night we came back and relaxed poolside. Ray gave us a tour of the grounds, and it was great learn all about history of the property and to see just how much is growing on site (plantains, bananas, avocados, cacao, and more. )

I enjoyed going to sleep to the sounds of the coqui, however if you don't want to hear the sounds of the jungle, you can always flip on the air conditioner.

I would highly recommend staying at Coqui's Hidewaway for people who want to chill out and relax, and don't mind driving to see the sights. During our stay we visited Old San Juan, Luquillo Beach, Playa Azul, the Humacao Nature Reserve, and of course El Yunque (which is about 5 minutes away), If you want to be a beach bum and go out for every meal, this might not be the place for you.

“Beautiful In Every Way~Don't miss the Chance to Enjoy~”
Reviewed March 10, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

What a hidden paradise! We travelled with our 2 friends and our 2 teenagers, and between the surrounding beauty of the grounds, the wonderful hospitality, the house warming arrival of fresh fruit and banana bread and all the wonderful advice on the not to miss sights; we could not have asked for a better location to begin our holiday. We were able to relax like we were at home, but feel like we were on an expensive resort. Ray and Gwenn have really thought of everything to make your stay truly memorable. It was the small touches that made a real difference, forgot shampoo or laundry detergent...not problem..they had some there. The banana bread and the pina coladas were fantastic!! The home...what can I say?? Beyond clean, beautiful, felt like home...comfortable...it was our paradise for days.
We ran into some dental issues with one of our sons and Ray could not do enough to help. We were able to resolve the issue on the advice he gave us and we were able to enjoy our trip. He advised us on some out of the way locations to be sure to see and directed us on how to get to the places we had to be at. He also took the guys on a tour of the gorgeous grounds that he and Gwenn have cultivated and designed. One of the most memorable was watching the boys cracking coconuts at the house.
You will be hard pressed to find another location where relaxation and enjoyment and beauty is so easily found. We can't say enough about the time we got to call Coquis Hideaway home, even for a short period of time.

“This was the perfect getaway with spectacular views and attention to detail”
Reviewed March 6, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

The attention to detail and the thoughtfulness of the owners was outstanding. Every item you could possibly need was supplied including condiments, hairdryers, beach towels and even sunscreen! The house was spotless and had plenty of room for all six of us. Although the pool was on the small side, the deck was perfect with space for sunbathing or sitting in the shade. There was also an outdoor kitchen by the pool which had a fridge (convenient for keeping our drinks cool) and a bbq. If you are looking for a getaway, away from it all, this is the place.

“Terrific vacation rental - beautiful location”
Reviewed January 4, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We had a wonderful time at Coquis Hideaway. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found somewhere special. The remodeled vacation home is spacious, recently remodeled, fully equipped for cooking and in great condition. It was one of the nicest vacation homes we have rented. The location is great - up in the hills nears the rainforest but still convenient to the beaches, restaurants and attractions. Ray was very helpful with advice and easy to deal with from start to finish. Highly recommended.
