“Comfortable apartment in a great location”
Reviewed April 27, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

The Whistle Stop offers excellent accommodation in the small Sussex town of Henfield. Its location is handy for local amenities. The apartment itself is faultless, offering space, comfort, all possible convenience plus many little personal touches that made the place feel a home-from-home. The kitchen was already stocked with many basics (and some lovely luxuries) when we arrived.

There is parking right outside the apartment, and Hassocks railway station is a short drive away and has a good amount of parking - an option infinitely preferable for a day trip to Brighton than driving in and queueing for one of Brighton's multistoreys! This part of Sussex also offers many pretty market towns and villages, and a landscape that is effortlessly picturesque.

Jo and Gavin made us feel very welcome. It was a delight to meet them and to stay in their rental. We will definitely be going back at some point.

“Delightfully modern and fully equipped”
Reviewed February 21, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

The Whistle Stop is just off Henfield main street and is beautifully furnished and equipped. Parking by the front door with shops and gastropubs only moments away. Wonderful walks all around. Very helpful owners on hand for any local advice. South facing immaculate private sun terrace/garden. All in all, brilliant for a short or longer stay.

“Recommended unreservedly”
Reviewed July 12, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

I find it difficult to believe that you could better this rental anywhere. The accommodation is stylishly modern and extremely well equipped. The extras provided are second to none and the owners delightful.. There's also a lovely garden to sit in. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Henfield itself is a pretty village providing everything you need in the way of shops and eating.

“Warm, well-lit, beautifully designed and spacious retreat in friendly small town.”
Reviewed January 7, 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Even in midwinter we enjoyed the south-facing, garden view from the sitting room-it must be lovely to sit on the patio in summer. Comfortable sofas and bed, luxurious bathroom, efficient kitchen and a sense of space and light inside which doesn't seem possible when you look at the neat but confined entrance! Good pubs and shops just a few steps away, and interesting walks both in the town and the surrounding, beautiful countryside. We loved our stay, wish we could have stayed longer, and hope to stay again!

Dear Ann and Richard,

It was our pleasure having you to stay and it was a shame that we couldn't accommodate you for the full two weeks. Thank you for your positive review and particularly for mentioning the 'neat but confined entrance' it is deliberately a 'hole in the wall' approach to the property because I know our guests are very surprised when they see the light and airy space beyond the front door.

We would be very pleased to see you again in the future.

Kindest regards
Jo, Gavin & Macy :)

“Everything you could need and ... all done in style”
Reviewed January 4, 2017 for a stay in December 2016

A modern self-contained unit. A 'home away from home' situated in the centre of a small Sussex village. Central and yet quiet and completely private, with it's own secluded garden area. This suite was perfect for me, travelling alone and needing a place of respite, yet would more than adequately suit a couple or a small family - My hosts were attentive to every detail while at the same time maintaining a sense of respectful privacy. Henfield is really a large village with everything one could need within walking distance. Very happy to recommend the Whistle Stop.

“Perfect accomodation!”
Reviewed September 18, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed for 2 nights in August and the accommodation could not have been better. Great communication by Jo as we enquired as to whether we could book as 3 adults (this wasn't a problem, comfy sofa bed!) The Whistle Stop is beautifully decorated and everything was thought of, the little extra touches were lovely. We used the village as a base as we travelled around (Beachy Head, Brighton then on to Weymouth and Devon etc!) but would have liked to stay longer. Enfield itself is lovely and we would visit again in the future :)
