My fiancee picked this spot to celebrate my recent birthday on the recommendation of the hotel concierge... just the two of us. We pulled up to an empty parking lot... I wasn't sure it was open but many cars lined the street further down. Neither of us had been to this part of the island before and it was dark so we really couldn't tell what else was in the area. We were greeted by the hostess at her podium which is almost out in the parking lot. She leads us through the lounge area into the restaurant and all I see is "South Beach"... nice but way over the top for the islands. We are seated at a table right on the waterfront/dock which was very romantic. The service was very good... perhaps a little over attentive at times but tolerable. A little unnerving was that we were literally the only two people in the place which is huge. The drinks arrived after a bit of a wait... odd since we were the only ones there! Don't waste your money on their specially cotton candy martini as it's not that great. The appetizers arrived and were good... 3 small pieces. Definitely room for the main course! She had the Mahi Mahi and I had the blackened seared Ahi tuna... Both plentiful and good but not great and somewhat bland. Dessert was good but not memorable either. I do vividly remember the check though and now understand why the place is empty and the Calypso Grill next door is jumping. Two and a half Benjamin's for dinner for two which was by no means over the top with 4 drinks and no wine? Come on! I've paid more... but I've also had much better. This could be a great laid back restaurant with a great location and view... but loose the attitude and '80's South Beach lounge decor... and realign the menu... oh and add some flavor! There are too many great restaurants on island that do it better.
