visited mid week for a booking at 6:30 pm, staff could not find the booking but it didn't matter as restaurant was almost empty. (we later found out that the locals eat later from about 8pm) We don't visit Indian restaurants often but our son has been here on a few occasions with his Indian mates. Ordered drinks which arrived promptly then starters consisting of chicken tikka & lamb mince kebabs with garlic naan, good flavours and served hot. Mains were kadahi chicken, rogan josh, balti beef & prawn Malabar and more bread. The four of us almost got through it all, shouldn't of had as much of the starters but it was all good, tasty and different flavours. We have a minor communication issue with ordering the next round of drinks but overall well served. The prices in the restaurant are not cheap but we could not fault the food.

We heard that this was the sister restaurant to the Maharaja Lakeside in Norwest. Having had nothing but great experiences there, we were keen to give this restaurant a try. We sat in the indoor restaurant area. As soon as we sat down, there was a strong odour of dried saliva which was very off putting. We ordered the banquet. Our entree plates were left on our table for at least fifteen minutes after we finished.

When the hot main dishes arrived, the rice was not served. We waited for a few minutes assuming it would arrive, then asked a waitress and sat and waited for another five minutes.

By the time the rice arrived, the mains had gone a little cold. The banquet included condiments and a green salad of which were not delivered until we specifically asked for them.

We left before the dessert that was part of the banquet as we could no longer handle the pungent smell or bad service. We were $100 lighter and left feeling very depleted.

My advice - if you order the banquet, be sure to remember what is included, so you can't get ripped off.

My husband and I went out for dinner just the two of us which we don't get to do very often without the kids. We visited Maharaja's as some of our friends reccomended it. The service was poor and was not the best curries we had had. There was no reason for the poor service as there was only one other family in the restraunat at the time. Plenty of staff standing around talking but not serving tables. Sorry won't be back in a hurry.

We have been here several times and always have a fun night out. The food is great and there is a lot of variety. This time we shared the cheese and potato roll for entree, then we had the spicy lamb with potato and the chicken vindaloo. All were very good - well spiced without being too hot. They were large servings and we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. The restaurant is set in a centre set up like an Indian Village Square. Outside the restaurant there are counters selling Indian sweets and on Saturday nights there is entertainment. The atmosphere is festive.

This was so much more than an Indian Restaurant. It was an Indian experience from the very traditional menu to the dancing and not forgetting the mouth watering desserts and coffee at the coffee shop. For a true taste of India, this is the place to go.
