“Truly fantastic”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

I went to this restaurant mid-week with my husband and had a truly fantastic evening. The food was exceptional and was equally matched by the service. We had a wonderful table on the side terrace. Tables are not on top of each other, the atmosphere was romantic and calm, we felt like we were somewhere in northern Italy a million miles from home. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to going back very soon.

“super place”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

we leave nearbuy so we get to go there quite a lot. 5 times in 5 months...
The atmosphere is great...inside in winter near the fire place or outside in summer...
it is more of a couples retreat but will work very well for an event. There is an austrian server who is super, ask him for recommendations, but you can't do no wrong with the chicken. You can actually preorder it so you dont have to wait for 40 mins...
it is costly though

“No Good”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

We have been several times over the last 10 years and each time enjoyed the visit, the caring service, the fine food, if not the tab . . . yes you pay dearly. This last visit was our last. The menu has changed and become more "gastronomy" and less good solid grub. And, we enjoy michelin star food, but this is wanna-be stuff and even with a less than full restaurant the wait staff was not attentive. We had to fill our own waters and wine and the plates sat, sat, & sat on the table. Just not the same and no good. Examples: sous vide lamb. Octopus salad that was chunks of a large tentacle. It was not rancid, but not appetizing either. Just not something that you could not wait to chow down and I can't imagine who would? Just not worth the drive from Geneva even if it is still in a charming lake-side town.

“Great experience”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

I visited this restaurant twice over one weekend, both times for dinner, and enjoyed it very much each time. It has high quality and plentiful food, with subtle flavours and textures, fresh and local ingredients with some vivid colours, creative as well as traditional dishes, and a large and high quality wine list. Also, various appetizer and some desserts are served on the house, with hot stone heated breads replenished as needed. Some particularly good dishes were the radish salad with roe, the pigeon (legs, breast and dumpling) and sorbets arranged on a painter's palette with a brush to decorate them with fresh fruit sauce. The service is great, including in reasonable English, and the atmosphere is casual and friendly. The price is considerable, but not outrageous, particularly for such high quality. Last but not least, the medieval village the restaurant is situated in is pretty and fairly well preserved with beautiful sights of Lake Geneva. I hope Michelin visits here soon - at least one star would be appropriate, to my mind.

“Lovely discrete luxury hotel”
Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

L'auberge is a small boutique style hotel with a friendly service and welcoming ambiance. We had the suite on the top floor for a little over €500 which isn't cheap. On the flip side it took my wife our kids 9 and 7 and out baby all in its stride. The restaurant was shut but nonetheless the breakfast we had was excellent. Hermance has a nice beach and is convenient for either geneva or thonon. We used it a a stop off returning from skiing but I am sure it is fun in summer. The room was quiet and fantastically furnished with some antiques of high quality.
