We have just returned from a Valentine's weekend treat and I cannot recommend Roxbro House enough. From the second we arrived to Clare's warm welcome we felt cherished and cared for in this beautiful establishment. Clare gave us invaluable advice on where to visit and we had a wonderful break. Nothing is too much trouble and there were so many thoughtful and luxurious touches: we can't wait to visit again! Perfect!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 2 which had a beautiful view of the castle

Clare and Stu have thought of everything and we enjoyed every minute of our seven night stay with them. The room was beautiful and there were some lovely little touches like fresh fruit, baked biscuits, chocolates and water available alongside the freshly ground coffee and good selection of teas. Fresh milk was delivered every day which was a real treat. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was peaceful and quiet.

Roxbro House sits right opposite Warkworth Castle so you are treated to that view every day. We partook of their cheese and wine happy hour on the one occasion we were around at 5 pm and it was good to have a little chat with other guests. Within easy driving distance are loads of lovely villages and towns as well as plenty of castles!!

Stu's cooked breakfasts were delicious and we probably tried just about everything on offer (the haddock hash and kippers were our favourites). There was plenty of fruit, cereals and baked goodies on offer if one wished. Clare was wonderful and went out of her way to help us plan our daily excursions with helpful suggestions of local restaurants and the best places to visit.

Having managed a very successful boutique b&b myself I was keen to see what others were doing and I expected the very best given the high rating that Roxbro House has on Tripadvisor. The experience more than surpassed my expectations and I would recommend everyone try this place. They are a great team who offer a top notch product.

Room Tip: the only room available when we booked was Geoffrey's Room which is a twin room with an en suite...

We stayed for a two night break from 2nd Feb and had a lovely time. The location of Roxbro is great with the castle literally on the door step. Warkworth was beautiful and we enjoyed walks around the river. We also went to Amble, Alnmouth and Alnwick all which could be reached within less than 15 minutes in the car.

We went in the hot tub which was in the garden and was a fantastic touch, it was so relaxing after a day outdoors walking. We also borrowed DVDs for our room which were great if you wanted a night in.

Many fantastic little things such as milk at the door in the morning and chocolates in the room when we arrived.

Clare showed us round on arrival and was always asking ourselves and the other guests what we had planned or what we had done the previous night at breakfast which was lovely and something you don't usually find at hotels.

I would definitely recommend the Roxbro as somewhere to stay if visiting Northumberland. We had a wonderful break and was the relaxing and peaceful getaway we wanted.

We had a fantastic stay at this gorgeous B&B. Room 2 overlooked the castle and was beautifully furnished. A very comfortable bed with feather pillows. Bath and shower facilities en-suite. We had a "Room Picnic" on our first night. Beautifully presented in a wicker hamper, the food was first class. Free cheese and wine available in the guest lounge during 'happy hour'. A good chance to mingle with fellow guests in a relaxed atmosphere. Claire and Stu were excellent hosts, and we shall definitely be returning

Room Tip: Room 2 is ideal if one of you prefers a shower and the other prefers a bath as both are available. L...

Just arrived back from a 2 night stay at Roxbro House, it was lovely Clare was really welcoming and gave us a tour around the hotel and a lovely building it is as well. The room was very elegant and the bed so comfortable which is great after a days walking. We loved the little touch with the small bottle of fresh milk outside your door in the morning makes the morning brew so much nicer. breakfast was really tasty and would recommend the roxbro rosti as one to try. Clare was always cheerful and asking what we were doing and when we said we were thinking of going to holy island she went away and got us tide timings so we could drive across safely . Also another thing to do is the hot tub and nice thing to do again after a long day out and about the soothe the bones. I would also like to mention the Sun Inn next door we went each evening to have something to eat and a drink and found the food very nice and the staff very friendly to talk too

All the little extras were great, the biscuits and chocolates and fruit were lovely and the breakfast was a delight with various choices. The rooms were furnished and decorated to a high standard and looked fabulous. We will be returning soon

We have just returned from from a three night stay at the fabulous Roxboro House. I had booked it for a special occasion for my husband and boy we were not disappointed. From the moment we stepped in the door it was wow after wow. Stuart showed us round the lounges and breakfast room being very careful to ensure he did not miss anything. The lounges were again beautifully decorated and had all the touches you would expect from a five star hotel but sometimes don't get. we stayed in room 1 as it overlooked the castle and again we just went wow and that wasn't just the view. They had thought of everything, all the special touches, fruit chocolates, home made biscuits, fresh coffee and crystal glassware. I had ordered afternoon tea with champagne for our arrival and that was excellent. We did not try the picnic basket but will next time. The breakfasts had a wide choice and nothing was too much bother. Claire and Stuart blend together and make fabulous hosts and are very proud (rightly so) of their home. We will be back to sample another room. Thanks again

Room Tip: Room 1 is overlooking the castle ans some may find it noisy with the road which we did not
