My wife and I stayed in The Ethel Noble Room and my son in the twin bedroom on the same floor which gave us exclusive use of that floor.

We have stayed in many of the top 5 star hotels both in the UK and overseas and this beautiful bed and breakfast matches them. From Claire's welcome on arrival, the quality furnishings throughout the property, the breakfast choice to the location made for a fantastic visit. When visiting the area again we will have no hesitation in staying once again.

The two lounges are so tranquil - you could spend hours just sat in one of them reading a book.

The honesty bar in one of the lounges with very reasonably priced drinks is a lovely touch with complimentary cakes.

We overlooked Warkworth Castle and were only a couple of minutes walk from the main street in Warkworth that is a delightful place to visit - time has stood still here-enjoy.

Thank you.

Alan Hope

We booked a last minute trip originally for one night and because we have never felt so relaxed in someone else's beautiful home we decided to stay another night. Having read the reviews we expected it to be something special but it really is somewhere you have to experience yourself, my review just cannot convey the warm, relaxed atmosphere and very special attention everyone is given - you feel as if you are the only guests in there. The house is so tastefully decorated and an absolute treasure trove of their family life. The bedroom is exquisite, a big squashy bed, with lovely soft pillows & duvet, huge fluffy pristine white towels, bathrobes and slippers - heaven......Breakfast, well just fantastic and I suspect the family are used to the highest quality as it is passed onto their guests, I've never been anywhere other than a top class London hotel ( I don't make a habit of it!) where you have bone china and the best silver!
I cannot recommend this place highly enough, thank you helping us to have a fabulous weekend

Yes this is a lovely hotel with great service and lots of little extras you may not expect, it is also set in a charming village overlooked by a castle, with riverside walks, honey stone cottages, individual shops, pubs and restaraunts. Being close to the coast with its beautiful beaches just adds to the pleasure of a stay at the Roxbro.

Room Tip: Every room is a good room in this hotel

We came home from our stay at Roxboro House wonderfully recharged. I have never stayed in a B&B (or a hotel for that matter) where I have felt so cosseted and relaxed! Somehow Claire and her partner managed to provide fantastic service whilst leaving us feeling as if the hotel was ours to enjoy - we felt like it was our home even though we only stayed for 2 nights!

We arrived early to check in (at 12 instead of 4). We hadn't warned Claire about this but she was welcoming and showed us straight to our room without batting an eyelid, leaving us with the key to start enjoying our stay. Very civilised - I've known many hotels not allow an early check in. Claire also offered us a late checkout when we said how tired we were - how thoughtful!

As others have said, the attention to detail is wonderful. I suspect that the owners have travelled a lot, and experienced many wonderful hotels...and then brought back the best bits for Roxboro House. Such as...a little first aid kit in the bedroom with a toothbrush, plasters and one or two other items one might need for a romantic break ;) There were little cakes on the tea tray, fresh milk outside the door for our tea, lovely cut crystal glasses in the bathroom, heavy, fluffy bathrobes and slippers, piles and piles of magazines to settle in with...

We also LOVED the whisky lounge - wonderful antique leather armchairs and a cabinet of single malts to try - and the hot tub was so romantic. We shared a bottle of chilled champagne and a bowl of strawberries in there at night time, watching the stars.

The breakfast was fabulous too, home-made smoothies and porridge, yoghurt and honey, and a special Roxboro Rosti, lovely multigrain or white toast, Craster kippers or a full english....you get the picture. All delicious and a bit special.

I don't know what else to add - I can't wait to go back. A truly special place to stay, thank you!

Room Tip: All the rooms are fantastic, but take some earplugs - it's an old house and if you wake up due to noise, you'll wake up here!
